Apparently there is new DNA evidence, etc... 9PM ET... I remember this was a cause that Eddie and Co. support so I thought I'd let everyone know. Peace.

Damian talked about his relationship with Ed. I truly believe these guys are innocent after reading a lot about the case and watching the Paradise Lost documentaries. I may not agree with Eddie on politics 100%, but I definitely give him credit for being a genuine person, and for sticking with his beliefs.
Also, Army Reserve is an amazing song. These two should collaborate more oftenFree the West Memphis Three

pretty interesting interview. There is usually a re-run of Larry King later at night. You guys should check it.0

Since I know about this [ ] much about the case, it was good to hear Damien Echols speak about the case and his life. He was very composed and thoughtful. It seems like they have a good shot at the powers that be taking another look at their case thanks to the new DNA evidence. I remember at the Boston shows, Ed said that the proceeds were going for DNA testing for the WM3 (and I think NJ206 as well?), so I am glad that that money might help free some innocent men. Though it seems that the Arkansas/West Memphis legal system is in no hurry to re-open this case."Goddamn Romans. Sure know how to make a ... drum room." --Matt Cameron0

Thanks so much for this thread, I have been so interetsed in this case ever since I read Devil's Knot. I on PST, so I'll be watching in about 40 mins. I'm going to TiVo this and have my book club watch it! (I chose Devil's Knot as my monthly selection, to spread the word of the case)0

i just caught the replay. echols was quite composed, but i gotta say that larry king is not the interviewer that he once was. his questions were sometimes redundant, and i got the impression that he had done little to prepare for this interview.
...and that final question, "is there any chance that you killed those kids" was totally unprofessional. what kind of reply did he think echols would give that question?
sorry i have a beef with bad interviews.0 -
Larry King is a horrendous interviewer. Just awful.
Here's the Echols quote from his interview:
KING: We are back with Damien Echols. By the way, we understand you are supported by many people. Among them, Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, is that right?
ECHOLS: That is correct.
KING: Have they been to see you?
ECHOLS: Eddie has. He has been to see me a couple of times. We talk on the phone, write, things of that nature. He keeps a -- he has been -- Eddie has went above and beyond the call of duty to me and my wife both. You know, he has been probably the greatest friend a person could have through all of this.

Apparently Ed was at a rally today too in Little Rock. At least that's what it says here:

I've read about the case on several occasions and it's clear that the whole thing was handled very poorly. but what amazes me the most is the fact that 15 years later the Arkansaz courts (as a part of allegedly the best judicial system in the world) are still reluctant to reopen the case and make sure justice is served. unbelievable. like damien said in the interview, it's probably all politics but still, people's lives are at stake.Knowledge is a tree, it's growing up just like me. Keep an open mind people...0

It was interesting to hear what Damien had to say but the interview questions were pointless. It's like King had done no research."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0

Living in Northeast AR when the murders and trials took place, I have to agree with Damien about how the local media helped convict them. The WM3 was all the local news, ie Memphis and Jonesboro, AR, talked about. There is usually little or no noteworthy news in the area and with the deaths of the 3 young boys the news teams finally had something to talk about. I lived about 3 blocks from the court house and remember like it was yesterday trying to get home from class through the streets crowded with news vans from all over the country.I wish I were the verb "to trust" and never let you down0

Yeah, I thought Damien was pretty well composed as well. I'm sure he was coached up to prepare for the interview. Larry King sucks balls. I've seen both documentaries about it and recently watched the first one with my wife.
I did however think it was strange how he never referred to Jason Baldwin by name and referred to Jessie Miskelly as the "borderline retarded guy".Dallas '98 - Dallas '00 - OKC '03 - Dallas '03

part 6 of that clip does nothing to help his cause- however, after reading John Grisham's new book "Innocent Man" I believe he needs a new trial0
