I am not exaggerating when I say that my college roommate plays this 6-8 hours a day and I wanna hit his computer with a sledge hammer. If anything I am under exaggerating, so that it is somewhat believable. It consumes his life. Its ridiculous that I have to go to the library anytime I want to get anything done and have to be out of my room in order to be happy. Sometimes I sit in the hallway for 10 minutes so that I have silence. I also have no private time for myself like every boy needs and can't really bring girls or other friends back to my room. Not to mention he is one of the most judgmental people Ive ever met.

He is always on ventrilo and his little headset talking to his friends and random gamers. He belittles people if they make a mistake and yells at people he probably doesnt even know. He also pounds his keyboard and i hear *click**click**click**click**click**click**click**click* alllllllllllll day! He doesnt really study, his entire life revolves around WoW.

He has probably 1-2 friends at this school, I was one of his bestfriends last year, but the only way you can hang out with him is while he plays his game and he says a few words to you every 10 minutes. If hes not at the food court-class-shower-sleeping, hes at his computer playing his frickin game.

He is not involved in anything. He considers any human interaction thats not with people he knows, 'awkward'

Thanks for letting me vent

Rather than being birthed like a normal child, Chuck Norris instead
decided to punch his way out of his mother's womb. Shortly thereafter
he grew a beard.

  • I think at the moment he is playing a game called Gladiator? I dont know.

Here is an example of what he has said in the last 10 minutes.

"makes me wanna fuckin strangle somebody"

"this dumpy ass game, season 4 means the same gay shit....carrot on a stick" wtf?

"i mean like, the way i look at it though, fireace and them, they'll play a team and go 1600 and four, they always have a good day."

"I ran priest and mage last night, and we did just fine."

    "fire priest rogue"

"get on the priest get on the priest, god damnit andy, what are you doing?"

When people get angry over a computer game it's obvious they've been playing it for WAAAAAAAAAAY too long.

  • that game is like crack. i'm scared to play it. I seldom play video games because they take up too much time, yet i help make them. is that a paradox or something??

Not really. Drug dealers generally don't take drugs. I doubt weapon developers are the first to run into battle either. It's natural.

Stay the FUCK away from that game!
    It's addicting!
I tried it at a friends house...and did not want to stop at all....at all. I wanted to play it every time I went over...thankfully I've either forgotten how addicting it is...or I just lost interest.
    Seriously an addicting game though!

Im living in a townhouse next year, and he'll be living there too, but in the room next door. Ill make sure to annoy him with my surround sound. Its to the point where Im so flustered that I try to annoy him. The tv is right by his desk, so sometimes I make sure to watch tv when I dont want to. I am definitely not living with him senior year because I'd prefer to live with someone that wont be locked in their room and out and about being social.

And as much as you'd think talking to him would be an answer, it would be like me telling a normal person to stop breathing, its his life.

Im 20 years old and rarely touch video games. Every once in awhile I play some N64 Bond or some sega dreamcast....old school stuff.

Over the summer though, I will play Battlefield 2 pretty often though cause i get bored at home. I would play it here, but his World of Warcraft eats up the bandwidth and I lag too much. My life also revolves around him playing his game :/

That's an exaggerated number, don't you think? I mean how many 45+ people did have a vote in the poll of yours.

Nothing wrong with games, shit I love the old school Mario games, Half-Life, the first two Metal Gear Solid. The latter two were addictive during my college years. But I can honestly say that I'm not addicted at all anymore.

EDIT: technically, I do have to the urge to play the first three Mario or Street Fighter II series once in awhile. So yeah I still do play some but nothing addictive.
    I'm 25 by the way.

the phrase, "get a life" really seems relevant right about now.

but I think, "get a real life" is more accurate.

EDIT: This comment is directed at anyone who plays that game, or anyone who plays videogames more than 5 hours a week.

I have, in my house, An Atari 2600, a Nintendo NES, A Sega genesis, an N64, a Playstation, an Xbox, and an XBOX 360.

I play the Xbox 360 about 2 hours a week, tops........and I play the NES about once a month when I have guests over.

That being said.....people need to find some balance and get the hell out and interact with actual living people. Message boards, virtual worlds, and Super-multi-player games dont count.
