The Breire call was even worse,it wasn't like the defender pushed into him and let go he was still holding danny when danny bumped into him. That being said Breire and Prospal WERE ARE U ????????????Go Birds!!!!0

chromiam wrote:Tough game... played alot better than Game 1 but losing Coburn was a bad break. They can play with the Pens and I expect their best effort on Tues, if not, then its over. Hopefully, they can build off the solid performance last night and correct the mistakes. As for penalty calls, I won't mention the inconsistency but as Stevens said, all you want is consistency, and we have star players as well. We did get a break on the no goal but given the circumstances it was the right call.
Lastly, I love everyone blaming Downie for the last goal and yes he didn't clear the zone but he was back where he was supposed to be in defensive position (following Roberts in the corner). It was Hatcher who overcommited to Roberts behind the net and left Talbot wide open in front. And the Flyers need to generate more offensive chances and not settle for one shot and done.
I noticed that as well on the replay with Hatcher getting caught
Who is going to step up this series ? Ala Umberger in the last series
Other than Richards in this series no one is stepping up at allMy drinking team has a hockey problem

Just like they wanted him out in 5 last year?
That's absurd.
If that truly was the case, they would've allowed the goal that he raised his arm in the air to celebrate because if he says it's good, then what do the refs or officials know?0 -

I think the biggest problem for all the Flyers lines is that the breakout of their zone has been terrible. As for the Briere line, I think the Pens have used Gil and Orpik against for the most part, which has slowed down and stopped the work along the boards. With the last change, the Flyers can get away from that matchup but I think there might be some line changes.
Maybe put Hartnell with Carter and Knuble with Briere but I don't know if there is much else that can be done... all the lines have looked weak and I'm sure the terrible ice in Pittsburgh had alittle something to do with that. This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Marty played much better in game 2,but he needs to stop playing with the puck so much. He has made bad passes in both games one cost him a goal and last night it almost cost him again. I know sammy kap isn't as good as he was in the past but they should have at least tried him a defense when coburn got hurt. I mean hatcher is slow as hell already when at full stamina let alone playn 27 or so minutes. That being said the goal was a goal but just like in football the call didn't have enough visual evidence to overturn it. we did get a break there but my god these refs are bad. The Hatcher penalty wasn't a penalty but the Briere one kills me the most. It happen right in front of the ref what in the world can he say the reasoning was (ooohhh he didnt try to stop foward progress) no shit it's hard to when the defender has your shoulder and is PUSHING U INTO THE GOALIE,WHILE STILL HOLDING HIM. Carter and Richards and maybe Hartnell are the only offensive players with any jump Briere,Vinny,Knuble, all look bad.Knuble almost looks as slow as Hatcher does. Anyway LETS GO FLYERS!Go Birds!!!!0

Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren updated the condition of defenseman Braydon Coburn on Monday from the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone. Coburn left Sunday’s Game 2 in Pittsburgh with a facial injury less than two minutes into the contest, and did not return. He was hit with a deflected puck.

“We’re still waiting to hear word on how his eye actually is. Right now, it’s swollen shut, there are no fractures and he’s doing better,” said Holmgren. “We have no reason to think that there’s anything wrong with the eye itself.
“Last night our doctors who were at the game thought he was fine, but we just wanted him to get checked out by an actual ophthalmologist. Assuming there are no issues there, we’ll just wait for the swelling to go down.
“I would say for the game tomorrow, he’s probably doubtful.”
Holmgren explained that Coburn did not feel well on the flight back to Philadelphia late last night, but that there is no reason to believe the defenseman suffered anything further.
“He had no loss of consciousness. At the time he was cognizant and aware when [Flyers trainer Jim McCrossin] got to him. He did have some issues on the plane last night but I think everybody thinks it was due to loss of blood. He lost a lot of blood from that injury.”
“Everything checks out, we’re just waiting to hear from the ophthalmologist on the actual eye itself, whether there’s any issues there. We don’t suspect there is, we just want to get it checked out.”My drinking team has a hockey problem

actually the terrific d had a little something to do with that. Is the ice not bad for the penguins? doesn't seem to be affecting them.0 -

actually it would be the Pens forecheck not their D... and the ice does affect both teams, it also is nice to be able to play on that ice 41 games out of the year....
NOCODE- go back into your hole... no excuses here, this team has outperformed EVERYONE'S expectations and I'm pleased with where there are at this point. Can they go further??? why not... and if not, then I look forward to a just as good if not better season next year. This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.
