i've been listening to this song a lot lately and loving it more than ever!
i have some ideas of what it might be about, but really can't put my finger on it- can anyone help?

    I was wondering the same. I have been listening to the Boston 4-12-1994 show and that song kills! Check it out.

    The song was recorded in New Orleans. Guitarist Stone Gossard on the song:

    "Tremor Christ" seemed to write itself. It was just a riff-and-a-half, basically. On a muggy, beautiful New Orleans afternoon we came into a very cool studio and it poured out. That and "Nothingman", which Jeff wrote, were recorded a day apart. They were very spontaneous, but with a simple yet indescribably beautiful vibe to them.

    Guitarist Mike McCready on the song:

    I wrote part of that one. It's kind of an odd, marching Beatles tune. It's just a strange song. It was written in New Orleans. The groove reconciles itself after you get into it.

    Tremor Christ is one of my top 10 PJ songs and I always hear shit from my friends for it. The music, the lyrics, its all perfect.

    iv been loving this song lately. I think it tells the story of eddies parents, the intenseness in is voice really makes the song as powerful as it is, i actually thought this song was complete shit when i first heard it but now its got over 100plays on my ipod :D

    I like Tremor Christi, is one my favourites. Great song.
