Patriots scrambling to find themselves time to get on a roll. That's one of the problems with having that week off, it takes awhile to get in sync.

YEAH! an 11 point lead...that's a TD, an 2-point conversion, & a FG to tie.

Defense was very sloppy, but a win is a win. I'm happy they won but they need to improve the D before facing the next game

there were parts i was not impressed with (i mean, how many times was jacksonville going to convert 3rd and long?) but over all i was impressed because:

brady was 26 for 28 to 8 different receivers and showed that he doesn't have to throw the long ball to win (and on a side note - randy moss had ONE catch in the whole game which was in the 1st quarter).

also, the pats have no running game? for a team that was supposedly hard to run against - maroney 22 rushes for 122 yards (and 2 catches for 40 yards).

and the pats held jacksonville's running backs to only 66 yards. did fred taylor even play in the 2nd half? (i'm sure he did, that was a thinking out loud question).

what i was not impressed with was the pats inability to get the jags off the field. how many times did the jags convert 3rd/4th down? the answer would be 6 for 13, which is too many in my eyes. (the pats were 7 for 11 on 3rd/4th down conversion btw).

and i wasn't impressed with some sloppy penalties by the pats either. really rodney harrison? another unnecessary roughness penalty?

how could you not be impressed with them. many national pundits were picking them to LOSE! maroney had over 100 yards and brady had only 2 incompletes. the pats had no turnovers and only 1 big mistake (missed field goal). they should've won by 14.

what national pundits picked the pats to lose? i can give you a dozen plus that all picked the pats to win this game.

Game came down to two plays:

    1. Garrard's fumble led directly to a Pats td
    2. Northcutt dropped a td, so instead of driving for a tie late in the game they were down two scores in the fourth quarter.

Brady was spectacular. The Jags played a good game of bend but don't break defense to keep the game close. I thought they waited too long to roll the dice and put pressure on Brady. The Jags were only sending in their front four the entire game into the fourth quarter. Brady had all day to pick the defense apart. When they tried to put pressure on Brady late they got burned, but they still did a good job of making a game out of it. I was wrong about the Pats running game and Maroney. He had a really nice game in what I expected to be NE's only real test of the playoffs.

I didn't watch after the score was 21-14 I went out dancing. Just got back and saw a shooting star, hey a win is a win. Again not bad after 2 weeks off, most of ya'll won't be impressed until they fall.

    Til then......N-E-X-T!
