"Fluke" .... ? Stop it. This wasn't even close to the insane luck we got in 2001/02.
"Giants were Fortunate"? Indeed, they were ... but if the Pats won, they would have been equally fortunate.
It was an even game ... both defenses outplayed each offense. The shock comes as the Pats offense was so proficient throughout the year (Giants weren't too shabby).
Giants outplayed the Pats ... if you cannot deal with that and think the only reason they won is because of a fluke, you are every bit the whiny Boston fan I hate reading/hearing about.
just deal with it people ... we got pitchers and catchers reporting in a week ... let's hope for a Sox v Mets rematch in the series!!!!
Finally, a level headed Patriot fan. Way to take a devestating stompin, unbelieveable beat down, total embarrasment, complete punishment, utter pounding, and pressure ridden smack down like a man.
I am still basking in the glory of this Giant victory, however, I do begin to hate my current football family real soon as I am a die hard Red Sox fan. I am living a sports fans dream this year.
All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.

.
Dude, the game was decided with 35 seconds left, and if Samuel catches Eli's ridiculously bad throw a minute earlier the Pats win, you make it sound like Niners/Broncos 55-10.
It was a great dramatic game, the Giants D-Line was the dominant unit and still it took a drive with no less than 3 football miracles for them to win. Not a pounding or embarassment. Just a hard fought, deserved victory.

there are plenty of level headed pats fans around here. i've been avoiding the aet just because there are so many d-bags around here that don't even root for the giants that feel the need to creat 800 threads about the giants winning and the pats losing (but at the same time really only being happy that the pats lost and not even faking happiness that the giants won - and we all know who i am talking about). i'll sit here all day and take whatever ignorant nonsense you want to spew at me, but it is like banging my head into a wall trying to use rational logic - there is no point because it is met with "hehe, u got bitch slapped!!!!!!!! !!!!!!"
and i guess that would mean, jimed, poncier and myself (as well as many others) have been living a sports fan dream DECADE with the pats winning in 2001, 2003, 2004 and the sox winning in 2004 and 2007 and the celts back big time with the best record in the nba.

Poncier's right ... Tyree doesn't make that catch ... the Pats actually sack Manning on that play ... any one of these things happen ... well, you guys just throw all the Billcheat chants right back at us ... ha!
Again, as I said ... no matter who won .... they were fortunate to have done so. It was a good game ... just a really shitty ending form my perspective.

Funny, I used to know a guy in Mass that was a huge Sox and Giants fan ...

the Giants miracle play was luckier than any one play in Pats history, if not the most fortunate play in NFL history. That last drive was the most fortunate drive in SB history. I'm all for giving the Giants credit - both those statements are undeniable.

I don't get people like you! How can you be a NY Giants fan and a Boston Red Sox fan. Do you like the uniforms? One city one team. Yes, the Giant D did play a great game, but that offense was lucky! The Toomer stiffarm, Eli should have been picked multiple times, he made some terrible throws( I don't know how he won the MVP), Bradshaw lost that fumble(don't know why they didn't challenge), Tyree had glue on his helmet. No domination this game was ugly as hell until late in 4th.
Let's face it Patriot fans like myself the GIANTS gave the Pats a beat down plain and simple. I actually would have love to see the Patriots play the way the Giants played and The Patriots STILL had a chance to win near the end.
BIG UPS to the G-MEN enjoy it cause every team like a wolf will be on the hunt after you including the Patriots.

i think it was amazing that the giants utterly dominated the pats offensive line like they did and the game was still that close going to the end of the 4th quarter and was decided by a drive that had no less than three "...and the patriots win their 4th super bowl" moments - samuels just missing an interception, eli escaping some how getting sacked and then the ridiculous catch by tyree against his helmet. samuels makes that pick - game over. eli gets sacked, pretty much game over. harrison knocks that ball off his helmet, pretty much game over.
in the end for whatever reason that completely escapes me, the pats did not adjust to the giants' m.o. quick enough. they just kept sticking with the vertical passing game when it was plain as day obvious that the o-line wasn't able to stop the giants d-line, which in turn wasn't giving brady long enough to find an open receiver down the field. i personally think that they should have went with screens and over the middle plays to welker, stallworth and faulk let them rack up the yac. and why didn't the pats go for the 48-49 yd fg? that 4th and 13 play selection was terrible. and why didn't the pats at least give a little help to hobbs on the plaxico td? i'll be scratching my head for a while on some of the calls, but the final whistle has blown, game over, giants win, pats lose, pitchers and catchers report in 8 days...
but like i've said before - and i totally mean it - huge props to the giants having a game plan and sticking with it for every second and minute of the game and never letting up.
good luck in 2008 g-men, repeating ain't easy especially in the here today, salary cap victim tomorrow world of the nfl.

One of the reasons nypj1 and others can and will act like that is that he really has no interest in the sport, he appears to be into hockey which I love too. It's more about his love ny and his utter hate and despise for the city of Boston.
He seems to feel that since the Patriots cheated ALL of Boston and it's fans are cheaters. Has he ever come on here and give a comprehensive, concise intelligent, conversation without being belligerent. It appears he wants to further his agenda of keeping the animosity between the cities of NY and Boston. If that's the approach he wants to lead in his life then so be it, good luck my friend, good f***ing luck.
Same for Boston fans who will want to follow down the same path, it really gets us nowhere as fans of the game of football or the city and teams you root for.
I made it a point to go on ALL threads (at least the ones that made some sense) to congratulate and praise the Giants for their play and to keep things on a positive note. If the Patriots had won and their were some knucklehead Patriot fans carrying ON I would've tried to keep things in perspective and down but that's just my style though, just to keep it all in perspective.

Some of us have lived in multiple cities. I am also a Red Sox fan and Giants fan. There is also something to be said about the kind of team they were when we first got into the sports. Heart and class count for me.
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.
Huge Packers fan here and am still a little sad about losing to the Giants. The Giants were a great team and I am very glad they beat the Patriots, who I see as a classless, cocky, cheating team. However, Boston is a much cooler city than NYC and I can't stand that dump. I usually root for Boston teams, but in this case, I liked the workmanlike attitude of the Giants. When baseball comes around, I will always root for the Sox over those damn Yankees. Also, how about them Knicks? Go Jazz!
