They could tie in Harley and the Joker's past, and possibly, without flashbacks obviously, let a little of their story of the Joker and how he came to be out, as Harley plans her revenge, and uses Bain as the attacking mechanism. So it's only a small part of the film and doesn't take too much attention from the rest of the story.

Hows this..Harley visits Bane in jail talking about his decision not to blow up the boat and slowly starts to lure him to the dark side and like you said halfway thru Harley starts to rock the paint and stuff..she doesn't have to necessarily have the outfit like in the cartoons but yea man
keep it fresh...fuck the other villains, we seen them, we hated them, they sucked...and bane wasnt much of a villain in the other series so he gets his due here.

I think the only downfall is Harley getting to psycho, which may end up to similar to the joker, but I like the idea even so, yes, without the costume, and dealing just a little into the past of killerjoke.

I will say, if they went the penquin or riddler route, I think Nolan would do a masterful job. Not choosing and a-list actor for the part, taking away the comic absurdity, and making them fit the real world.

well Batbot to a degree..just enhance his costume a bit more like Freeman started doing in this one with the new lil additions.

I read on the weekend that the next villain will be Riddler and that they're pursuing Johnny Depp for the part. Nolan knows that Depp takes direction well, but can also make the character his own. The article also stated that Penguin will make an appearance at some point and they want Philip Seymour Hoffman for the role.

Most of what I have read about Jolie's Catwoman is referring to a potential stand alone movie about the character. There are always rumors about actors and characters for these movies. I heard the Depp as Riddler rumor and a year or so ago I heard rumors of Harley Quinn being played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. That didn't happen (at least not with the current movie). I don't know much about the comics, but isn't she VERY connected with Joker? I've also heard her character is very well liked by fans of the comics. Kevin Smith named his daughter after the character. With Ledger's passing, that could mean her character doesn't make it into the next cut.

I have it on good authority that Dick Cheney will be cast as The Penguin and will attempt to destroy Gotham so the company HalliBIRDon can win a no-bid contract to rebuild the city. Batman will be thwarted by The Penguin's henchman known as Cowboy Codie, because it's irresistable to sit down and have a beer with him...he's such a regular guy. Nolan was attracted to "The Sirens" aspect of the Cowboy Codie mythos and realized the character would draw attention and allow The Penguin to work behind the scenes, a hidden threat unbeknownst to Batman.
