Horrible People!

I HATE my housemate... he's a bollox. Doesn't fucking pay any of his bills.. no actually, since I moved in 2 months ago, he's paid approx £10. My boyfriend's lived with him for months and he says to leave it, that he's just hit hard times at the mo... but even today the gas ran out. It's always up to me or my boyfriend or he just says 'well I've no money' and shrugs. I said 'well I've money but can't get to the shop' and he said 'well I'm not bovvered' :rolleyes: . He talks to himself all the time... or mumbles rather.

Shortly after I moved in we were having a chat... in hindsight it was him telling me he won't be paying any bills. He was going on about how he was got for benefit fraud and now has to pay it back even though it was a misunderstanding :rolleyes: he said 'I might just stop paying maintenance for my eldest daughter... cos everyone else does it and gets away with it so why shouldn't I' :eek: Horrible horrible man!

We're moving out soon though hopefully... can't come soon enough!

    sounds like a terrible mess. Congrats on moving out though! Things will get better soon enough.

    the guy sounds like he has problems and although its a sad state of affairs, those problems are not yours and YOU still have to pay the bills othewise it puts you in a tough spot.

    People that shirk their responsibilities really tick me off. I can understand hard times - been there - but at least try your best to live up to your obligations, rather than just say "f#@k it". I am sorry you are in such a mess...is it possible to kick him out if he doesn't step up and do what he ought to do financially as a housemate?

    I would... but he was here first... and the bf gets on with him... so I don't feel like it's my place. But I've had words with the bf cos he completely takes advantage of him and I don't like that. I've seen him giving him food and cigarettes... probably gives him money too.     Not really! Well basically I'm not really officially living here so not much I can do. But he's not financially put out cos of me.

    Besides... NO judge will make you pay stuff without ensuring you can afford your own bills first. He buys chinese takeaways often... has bottles of wine, etc.

    Thanks :o but I've had some wonderful housemates in Dublin over the years... some of them have become some of my closest friends! There have been one or two disasters... mainly with cleanliness... but still lovely people! Only one I couldn't bear to be in the same room as but he didn't stay long... I won't have to put up with this guy for long either. Oh speaking of cleanliness.. he never cleans either :mad: :D

    Nah, he has his own car. That's the issue. I don't have a car but you have to drive to the shop to top up the bills. I have the money and he's driven around before when I gave him money... food's a must... but Chinese takeaway ain't! :D

    Oh and also... consider a situation where you can't afford bills for some mad reason and your housemates pay... wouldn't you switch every light off after you? Cut down on the use of gas? Nah.. I get up in THE MORNING and every bloody light has been left on by him going to work when it's already bright! EVERY light! He has a bath EVERY day which is powered by gas. Just bloody ignorant if you ask me.

    well at least his person is clean. So let me get this straight . He works, doesn't pay his part of things,could probably change his priorities, doesn't clean up after himself, is wasteful with shared resources(elec., gas, water).

    :D the lease isn't in his name... my bf is completely non confrontational and way too nice to be dealing with fuckheads like this. He's begged me to leave it so I'm doing it for him... but some day I may snap... and I hope I'm not around when I do :D
