Racism at its finest.

If this is racism...then everyone is a racist.
as so... it happens because we naturally bond ourselves with people we have things in common with.... hasn't anyone noticed this?
there's nothing wrong with it until we start the hate.
It's not racism because you notice things about other cultures.
Is marketing sun-block to white people racism? What about afrosheen to blacks.the Minions0 -

no I don't think you screamed racism...singularity wrote:and i don't mean to come on here screaming racism. the title of this thread should have had a question mark at the end of it, because i don't even know if i witnessed anything racist. and if it was, i am certainitly not going to come on here complaining about it. i just simply witnessed something that i feel was a little curious, and i just wanted other's opinions on it.
and the color of the skin struck me because of what i saw of course. i saw the car slowly inch past one, then slowly inching towards the second, the window comes down.
but hey, in the long run she was being charitable and hopefully whatever she gave him goes to good use.
I appreciate the questions that have arisen as a result of your post/thread.
I was thinking about it - and I am positive that I give on the average more to a certain type of homeless person. and it is because of personal preference/reasons. my reasons aren't based on race, but they do have racial undertones...very curious indeed.IF YOU WANT A PLATE OF MY BEEF SWELLINGTON, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY THE COVERCHARGE.0 -
Every week going to get my coffee in my tea break, the guy that sells the Big Issue and the kid with the bucket for Greenpeace.
Every week I buy The Big Issue and give the vendor a "tip" I guess we'll call it and every week I say no thank you or not today to the Greenpeace kid.
One watching this behaviour could assume from that that I don't like Greenpeace or consider conservation a waste of time or that I'm bigoted against Greenies. That I think homelessness is a bigger problem. That I'm biased in favor of the homeless.
But that would be incorrect.
I already donate to Greenpeace, monthly, so I see no reason to throw change into the bucket when I have limited resources to donate.
The woman could have had all kinds of reasons for doing what she did and I think only assuming one explanation for her behaviour is a little short sighted really.NOPE!!!

Hold on to the thread

maybe she sees that guy every day and gives him money regularly?0

singularity wrote:you know, i thought about that, but i don't think it was racism on my part, because she had blatant disregard for one and not the other. why did she make her decision? if she is someone that likes to give to homeless, then why not both??
how is it blatant? what do you know about her other than she was black? maybe the day before she gave to the white guy?
All I'm saying is you are making an assumption on the color of skin alone. Is it racism if a white person stops for the white person?
I don't think you or the women you are speaking of's actions are racism."Music, for me, was fucking heroin." eV (nothing Ed has said is more true for me personally than this quote)

Not racism, not even close. Now if she pulled up looked over the white guy spat at him then went unto the black and gave him money then you may have a case for racism. Also your title seems to be strongly implying that this was a racist act which it isn't to me.
You could've step in and made a difference if this scenerio bothered that much however let's be thankful she gave something to someone cause she didn't have to.
Let's hope he didn't use it to go and buy alcohol instead of food that would be just a waste of money.

She could have not gotten the money out of her purse in time. She could have given the white guy money the day before. The black guy could be her brother. The white guy could be her jackass ex-husband. She could hate all white people.
The bottom line is this: You don't know anything about this woman or her decision-making process so you have absolutely no good reason or ability to judge.0
