Yeah, famous folks are definitely not the only ones looking to have their kid stand-out from the get go.
There is a couple in Seattle who used their blog to find a neighborhood related name. Their blog was blogged about here:http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/thebigblog/archives/126049.asp?source=rss
A couple of months ago, when Kristin Boraas Carder was seven months pregnant, she and her husband, Justin Carder, were taking an unusual approach to picking out their baby's name. Or, given all the blogging that goes on these days, maybe it was a sign of the times.
The Carders posed a question on their Capitol Hill Seattle blog – what's a good Capitol Hill-tribute baby name?
Carder had her baby Sunday – a boy, 8 lbs, 9 oz., with blue eyes and red hair.
The couple passed on some names people posted, mostly names of streets on the Hill – Thomas, John, and certainly in the liberal neighborhood, "Republican."
They saved their child the indignity of being named Aloha Carder, or "Spare Change?" Carder.
The kid's name: Bowie Kingfisher Carder.
The Bowie is after David Bowie, Justin Carder said by e-mail. Kingfisher? "Kingfish Cafe (on 19th Avenue East) is a neighborhood institution, no?"Walking can be a real trip

LOL, well Bowie will always be cool and Kingfisher has two cool yet kinda neutral words together so he might get away with it, but trying to imagine a no good 60 year old former hockey player in a pub in Sweden called Texas-Kid is amusing to me.0 -

And I actually like "Memphis Eve"
That sounds like a womans sanitary product. Oh wait...that's "Summer's Eve".
In any event you know some celebrity is going to name their kid Summers Eve, and they'll grow up to be a douche...Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I'm guilty
My daughter's name is Jimmie Paige. She's 11 & has always gone by either Jimmie or J.P.
I'm not even THAT huge of a Zeppelin fan, either, I just thought that the name was really cool. A surprising number of people have agreed with me over the years, too."If you're looking for someone to pull you out of that ditch, you're out of luck."0 -

YES, I just saw this in a magazine, he chose Everly for the Everly brothers (one of them-I can't remember which one) and he said "the Mama" chose Bear. Oy.
Pilot Inspektor is the worst one, just b/c you're rich or famous, and you can pay the therapy bills for your kid doesn't give you the right to give them and atrocious name.
And Blue Angel? Oh no. Some of them aren't too terrible, like Anisah, that's not too bad. And Audio Science? Seriously?! Wrong. just wrong I tell you. That's just so self centered to not think of how the kid will get picked on for having a bad name. I got picked on for my last name pretty badly.
You know what I wonder, what do the nurses say when they hear that's what they want to name the kid? Like who helps people fill out the birth certificate? Someone should have to say "are you SURE" before they fill it out."...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

Yeah, apparently, his love for the Everly Bros lead him to
name his son after them. And she wanted *Bear*, but he said it
was cool cause he's always had something of a bear in himself
Or someting like that, a bear clan or something. I mean, its all good, but a little too unusual..."I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened"0 -

it's still not as bad as Pilot Inspektor or Audio Science. That sounds like Big Audio Dynamite or something Thomas Dolby would have chosen. Geesh!
Everly could go by EB for his initials."...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

cropdustress wrote:Yeah, Pilot Inspektor is a horrible name for a kid. or any grown up person later
I know! I mean, Pilot is one thing but then to pair it with Inspektor? And give it a 'unique' spelling.
I'm telling you. How do birth certificates get completed, in the hospital? Is any hospital staff involved? There should be a rule that you can't take your kid home until somebody says ARE YOU SURE? If they hear names like that. How could you keep a straight face? I couldn't!
I could deal with just about any other name on that list before that one. Oh you know what, Kal-El is pretty bad too. I mean, Superman's name? Geesh."...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

I mean, I understand they want their baby to have a unique name, but
why not find an actual RARE name other than making up names
or namimg kids after things or professions in this case
Have you heard about the couple from somewhere in Asia a few months ago, they wanted to name their kid @!
Yes, @
I don't think they were allowed at the end, but that was pretty funny and crazy."I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened"0 -

It was so confusing
Once again, there are tons of baby name origin sites outthere, people
Pretty cool and unusual names too.
Interesting to see how many celebrities have changed their real names.
Some of these I wasn't aware of "I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened"0 -
