i've always called the head boss of my company by his first name along with many other people. but there are a few who address him as Mr. Smith. i just feel that is the ultimate ass kissing thing to do. am i alone on this?

good, glad to know i am not the only one!

i just can't stand when some associate address him as Mr. Smith. i should have added this to the thread that talked about office annoyances.

I call my bosses by their first names. Actually, when introduced to them at the interview and first day of work, they made it known that they wanted to be called by their first name and not Mr./Ms. (one boss is male, the other female).

I couldn't imagine addressing my boss as a Mr. or Mrs. I think any boss that requires that is a douche bag!

i will sometimes call my boss only by his last name in conversations, though that is only to differentiate him and someone else by the same first name. i don't think he knows that i do that though :)

other than that...everyone in the company goes by their first name. it'd be quite strange if it was any other way!

Yeah, I think in the olden days people called their boss "Mr. or Ms/Mrs." But that would be weird to in this day and age! I agree with the person who did say it sounded like ass kissing! :p

    me too.
everyone is on a 'first name' basis here, it would be VERY odd to hear anyone say mr/ms to anyone.
