Does anyone else find the baseball playoffs to be really boring?

And of course I mean boring for the people not in Philly, LA, Boston, or Tampa lol. I just don't feel like its all that exciting this time around and I'm wondering if I'm the only one. I know the games have been good so far but I just don't care at all. To me regular season football is much more exciting.

The weird thing is that I usually love baseball, especially the postseason. And no I don't like either NY team so that has not biased me :).

I think it's boring, because right now, games are in the day which is harder for me to follow.

It'll be a good world series I think.

I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

I love the baseball playoffs. It's my favorite sporting time of the year. I think I've watched every post season since I can remember with the exception of the Indians Braves World Series my freshman year in college and the Yankees Mets World Series because I couldn't justify watching a sporting event in which I wished for both teams to be beset by injuries. ;)

The lowest rated World Series was 2006 between the Cardinals and Tigers.

The highest rated World Series was 1980 between the Phillies and Royals.

I don't think a Series between the Rays and Phillies would be highly watched but would not be the lowest of alltime.

I wasn't alive then but I'm guessing it was so highly watched because people wanted to see the last original team win the Series. I mean it took almost 100 years to do it so a lot of people had to become interested within that time.

Ahhh true. I can only imagine how high the ratings would have been in 2003 if it ended up being a Cubs/Red Sox series. That would have been the most amazing matchup ever... and I'm not even a fan of either team. It just would have been so cool to know that one team would end their curse. Now I'm starting to wonder if the Cubs will win a series anytime soon.

Yep. The World Series in 06 got 1/3 of the ratings the 1980 World Series got. World Series from 1968 to the early 1980's routinely got 50+ shares. The last three didn't even get a 20 share.

    Here are the five lowest:

    2006 Tigers Cardinals 10.1 with a 17 share
    2007 Red Sox Rockies 10.6 with a 18 share
    2005 White Sox Astros 11.1 with a 19 share
    2002 Angels Giants 11.9 with a 20 share
    2000 Yankees Mets 12.4 with a 21 share

Since all the lowest rated World Series have been in the last ten years, it's a good guess that this World Series will join the bottom unless its Dodgers Red Sox.

it doesn't have to be boring, just pick a team to root for, find any reason to, and root for them! if your a fan of baseball and not just of a particular team it shouldn't be that hard. i'm a met fan, so by default i'm rooting for the dodgers in the nl and red sox in the al! the post season is a blast!

see, i love the fact that a world series championship continues to dodge the cubs. not because it's the cubs, but just the fact that it's been that long and it's continuing. i was crushed when the red sox ended their streak. the only time i don't like seeing shit like that is when it's happening to one of my teams.

I could care less if no one other than myself watch the World Series - as long as the Phils are there. They could play it on the fucking moon. I could really give a shit about anyone else except for those in the Philly area. A title is a title is a fucking title.

I don't think the baseball playoffs are boring at all. I try to watch every game. October is my favorite month of the year. Weather down here finally cooling off. NFL in full swing. NHL getting started. Baseball at its best.

Now, a mid August game between the Rangers and the Royals? That's boring.

I could care less if no one other than myself watch the World Series - as long as the Phils are there. They could play it on the fucking moon. I could really give a shit about anyone else except for those in the Philly area. A title is a title is a fucking title.

Are you all going to burn the city down when Philly finally gets rid of that monkey on it's back? ;)

Nah, just a lot of drinking, dancing in the street, and sex with random women.....hopefully.
