Tim Lincecum

What a career this guy has in front of him. Too Bad the Giants have no offense, you put him with a high powered offense, he'll probably win 25+ games if he stays healthy.

Currently 8-1, 1.99 ERA

I like these little bulldog type pitchers, he has no fear and comes after hitters

as long as the Giants don't rehire Dusty Baker ... see Kerry Wood and Mark Prior ...two similarly promising careers killed due to overuse.

Granted, I think he's handling Edinson Volquez pretty good thusfar ... yes, Edinson Volquez who is actually pitching better than Lincecum right now!! (but, both are pitching fantatic)

Volquez is another flame thrower. I'm a Yankee fan and hope the Yanks are doin the right thing with Joba, I'd prefer to keep him in the bullpen for a bunch of reasons. Hank should let Girardi do his thing, and stay out. Who's going to set up for Mo

    Farnsworth
    Hawkins
    Who ever

All in all young pitching really energizes the game. And it is a shame what happened to Wood and Prior(especially Prior) Pitching can be violent on your body

We all expected Lincecum to play this well, even with the lack of offense that the Giants have. He can win every game 1-0! My buddy who lives in the city told me before the season started that the Giants will win as many games as Lincecum starts, no more, no less. I think he was pretty close!

I still think Volquez has time to tank, look at Cueto!

Cueto tanked after what, 3-4 starts? Volquez has kept it up all season.

Do I think he'll have an ERA under 2? No way ... he still walks too many for that ... but, he's always had the stuff, just needed to control it. I don't foresee him tanking.

I've seen Lincecum live ... tough to see this kid not getting hurt at some point, he's smaller the Pedro was when he forst came up, and his movement to the plate seems like ti's asking for an injury.

I'm pulling for him though, he's fun to watch.

Or, in the case of last night's game, NOT! Shit! Timmy is a stud. I saw him pitch last summer against the D-Bags - pretty good team (it pains me to say that) with some decent young hitters. They were completely overmatched. "The Franchise" struck out 12, in 7 innings, with pure gas! :D:D

he should punch Barry Zito in the Balls daily and take his lunch money.

No one is stealing more money in the league than Zito.

As a Giants fan he's the only really special piece we have. Cain could be great as well but not on the level that Lincecum has been. The Giants have a great promotion when Lincecum starts. For every strikeout he throws fans get $1 off a bleacher ticket for an upcoming game. Not bad when you figure bleacher tickets are $13. Last night he struck out 10, so a pair of bleacher seats for next Monday's game is only $6. I'm almost tempted to go, especially since he's throwing that night.

No kidding, he totally deserved the Cy Young! I think he had around 265 strikeouts, nuts. For his size I am blown away. Hopefully he stays healthy and gets some help on that team. Plus, i have him on both my fantasy teams, made some key picks for young players (soto and longoria among them).

from the bay area, live there still, tried to catch all Lincecum's games on tv at least this year, he was amazing, what a bulldog. Funny thing is I'm in Redmond/Bellevue, WA today where he is from, the day they announced that he won the Cy Young. Some people here pretty happy and proud of him.

There was a really insightful Article written earlier this year in sports illistrated that described how his father helped to teach him how to have flawless mechanics. So even though he has a below average size body for a pitcher his mechanics are so strong most believe the torque he generates will not lead to an injury risk.

    Pretty interesting stuff.

Glad he won the cy young i'm a fan of his.
