it's scary cause i was at that same bar that night. i just hope this ends up happy. this stuff happens way too often. happened to a girl at OSU last year.0 -
I saw that a hardcore fan was missing somewhere. Did they find him?0

Not Yet. I've been checking his myspace page to see any news. It's kind of sad, I think. Hopefully he'll turn up soon. I heard that he was spotted 4 days after he disappeared at a convenience store, but nothing since...Dallas '98, Houston '03, Dallas '03, Kisseemee '04, Missoula '05, Toronto '05, Atlantic City #2 '05, Albany '06, Hartford '06, Chicago #1 and #2 '06, Cleveland '06, Detroit '06, Boston #1 '06, Washington DC '080

It's Columbus, he's an Ohio State med student. Flyers are posted everywhere here with his face and a photo of the stickman (which he has a tattoo of).

A Faceless Man wrote:BUT...I hate seeing something like this when there are hundreds of cases like this everyday, but just because we don't know if they are some huge Pearl Jam fan we don't give them any attention.
And I say this during any high profile missing-persons case. What makes that case so different when I know that there are other cases just like that going on at the same time. Why should just one family get that kind of help...support...whatever while the other families hardly get any looks?
this guys family is reading this for gods sake... stop being so insensitive...
the reason it has a resonance on here is because he is a fan of the band... therefore people have an emotional affinity straight off. The reason its being posted on here is that we all know now the guy has a tattoo, we know his name, his picture, his hometown, etc, etc, this is giving thousands of regular posters on here the chance to maybe spot this guy and help him out..
If you want to post about missing persons then please do so... its a good idea but its no reason to act so churlish about the posting of a thread about a missing person. Information is what's needed and so if more people can read about it on here thats surely only a good thing.
If you dont agree then stay out of the thread and hopefully this guy along with the hundreds of others who go missing every day can be locatedoh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
Thanks for making this a sticky, we have a wonderful community of caring fans. Hopefully he will be found safe and sound. I'm keeping him in my thoughts and prayers, along with his family and friends. Keep your spirits up, take good care of yourself, as you will need your strength during this time. We'll come together and do what ever we can to help, don't hesitate to ask if you need any assitance, that's what us PJ fans do for one another!"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. I think it was mentioned, but it's worth saying again. He has the stickman tattoo on his right arm.0 -

I hate to type this, but here's an update.
Today on the 6 PM news, it was reported that police will be searching a landfill. I suppose the silver lining is that they're leaving no stone unturned so they're searching everywhere for everything.
I wish I had more, but that appears to be it at this moment. Keep your eyes on http://www.nbc4i.com (NBC affilliate) and it appears that our local CBS affiliate http://www.10tv.com is now offering updates as well as this link with video.
Here's also a related story from the local ABC and Fox affiliates (they share the same news team), but don't seem to update their website as much as the others. Apparently some of the flyers were pulled down due to their condition, but were scheduled to be replaced this morning with new ones.

Here's this update as well:
Brian's family and friends will be taking donations tonight at The Lodge Bar in the Arena District from 7 to 9 pm. The money will be set aside for Brian's reward fund.
If any Central Ohio people don't know where that is, it's quite close to Nationwide Arena. If you want to go, please be advised that there is a hockey game tonight at the arena from 7 PM to 9:30 PM (or so), so you may want to have a friend drive you so you don't have to find, then pay for parking. If you're more familiar with a bar called the Brickyard, it's actually been re-named. What's sort of cool about that, is that Even Flow actually played there in 2003, around the time that Pearl Jam appeared at Germain.
If you are outside the area, or can't make it tonight, 1-800-645-8477 or 1-800-645-TIPS is the crimestoppers number. I don't know how you can donate money to Brian's specific fund over the phone, but i'm sure there's a way.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
That's awful...well, hopefully his family and g/f will find him soon. But, it did say his mother just passed away a few weeks ago, so I imagine he might want to be on his own for awhile, but still it's hard to understand why he'd leave his family like that."Darth Vader would say 'Impressive'."

I don't think he left his family...even if you were that upset, you would have talked to someone - at least somebody out there.
But that didn't happen at all...and someone mentioned it happened to a girl at the same place last year...
Especially after two weeks...that's just too long not to talk to someone under that state of mind. You gotta eat somehow? Surely, they have ran checks on his debt card/account to see if it was used/withdrawn somewhere...
It doesn't look too good in my opinion. :(
But I'm holding out hope for his family/friends/girlfriend's sake.
I hope this will turn out to be a HUGE relief for everyone invovled!!!JA: Why do I get the Ticketmaster question?

Indeed you would. In fact, I think we'd all like to know what happened to that one person who said they knew something. And now they're not talking? I think we'd all like to know why they're not talking, not necessarily just what they know. In this case, I think "why" might be more important than "what".IamMine wrote:Especially after two weeks...that's just too long not to talk to someone under that state of mind. You gotta eat somehow? I think one of those three links I recently posted mentioned that there's been no activity on his credit/debit cards. Obviously that would provide a huge lead.IamMine wrote:But I'm holding out hope for his family/friends/girlfriend's sake.

Seconded.
Let them sing:
"I just want to scream, "Hello."
My God its been so long. Never dreamed you'd return."
And not:
How I've opened up. Release me.
Release me. Release me dad. Release me.
or even:
And now my bitter hands shade beneath the clouds of what was everything.
All the pictures have all been washed in black. Tattooed everything.
You get the idea. The first sample is definetely a lot happier (in my opinion) than the second two.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
