24 - Season 7

It would be cool to find out if the writers/producers actually left out the silent clock for Tony on purpose, with the thought of bringing him back down the line. Or if they just fucked up back in season 5, and are now using that to their advantage and bringing back a strong character to help get the show going again.0

I will be the first to admit that last year was frustrating for many hardcore fans, and it did feel like it just didn't match up to previous seasons. But there was still some fantastic television that came out of 24 last year.

Tony learns that Henderson, the man who was responsible for killing Michelle, is now in the same room with him after the nerve gas lockdown. Tony grabs the guarding agent’s gun and threatens to kill Henderson. Jack talks him out of it over intercom. When Henderson lapses into a coma, Tony wants to inject him with a lethal dose of the medicine. Yet he can’t bring himself to do it. The alert Henderson takes Tony’s hand and forces him to stab himself. When Jack gets there, he finds that Henderson has escaped. Tony dies in Jack’s arms.

LOS ANGELES - Kiefer Sutherland pleaded no contest Tuesday to a charge of driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit and will serve 30 days in county jail under terms of a plea agreement.
Attorney Blair Berk entered the plea on behalf of Sutherland, who was not present.
As part of the arrangement, Sutherland must also enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months.
The charge of driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent or higher stemmed from a traffic stop in Los Angeles last month.
A second misdemeanor charge, driving under the influence, was dropped.
Sutherland is already on probation for a 2004 drunken driving arrest. Superior Court Judge Stuart M. Rice revoked the actor's probation in that case.
Sutherland, star of Fox's "24," could face six months in jail for violating probation. Sentencing is set for Dec. 21, the same day the show begins its winter production break.0 -

Preview of Season 7
Set in Washington, DC, “Day 7” opens with CTU dismantled and JACK BAUER (Kiefer Sutherland) on trial. Bauer’s day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA (Carlos Bernard) returns. Meanwhile, President ALLISON TAYLOR (Cherry Jones) leads the country alongside White House Chief of Staff ETHAN KANIN (Bob Gunton) and First Gentleman HENRY TAYLOR (Colm Feore).
A national security crisis prompts an investigation by a team of FBI agents including Agent JANIS GOLD (Janeane Garofalo), Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching), Agent LARRY MOSS (Jeffrey Nordling), Agent SEAN HILLINGER (Rhys Coiro) and security specialist MICHAEL LATHAM (John Billingsley). Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O’BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison) are back for another momentous day of shocking events.0 -

Yeah I thought that was funny as well. More connections to Robocop I guess!!0 -

Wow, I was a bit disappointed in last season but that trailer looks AWESOME!0 -
After being not much more than a pussy in season one, I grew to like Tony a lot over subsequent seasons. That being said, it is bullshit that he is still alive.
It is about time CTU is disbanded. How disfunctional was that agency? They were infiltrated just about every damn year. They were obviously doing something wrong. The fate of the nation was always at risk due to someone's incompetance at Los Angeles CTU.0 -

I'm glad CTU is gone as well. But they will just use the same devices but instead now it will be the FBI. So there will no doubt either be a mole, or someone suspected of being a mole. There will be the hardass person in power who will thwart some of Jack's attempts, then realize they made a mistake and help Jack later in the season. Either way, still glad CTU is gone. Got sick of them trying to find ways to bring Jack back on a provisional basis.
Also glad its in DC instead of LA. That could be cool.0 -

So is it going to be DC for the season or just the opener?
I know the production of 24 got halted because of the fires in CA. A DC repodution might be tough to pull off.0 -

I guess I'm assuming the entire season is in DC. Otherwise there are going to be quite a few hours watching Jack on a plane fly cross country from DC to LA!!0 -
Tony as the bad guy? I'll wait and see, but it sounds like a bad choice. Maybe it will work. I think it would have been better if they hadn't revealed it and made it a surprise. In all, though, the trailer looks good and I'm looking forward to the new season. I love the fact that they tore apart CTU and they shifted the setting to DC.Brian0

Not sure if I posted this within this tread or not, but the writers/producers wanted to get Gary Oldman as the bad guy for season 7. Unfortunately he turned it down, cause that would have been fucking bad ass.
I see the trailer as more of a setup with Tony so everything thinks he's gone bad like Saunders and Robocop. But then we find out he is working undercover for some secret gov department etc, then works with jack the rest of the year. Thats my hope anyways. BUT I will take him being the main bad guy over bringing him back for the first few episodes only to get killed off by Jack.0 -

I'm almost certain Tony isn't really bad, but just working undercover for someone/group.0 -

Didn't they once, I believe it was season 4 or 5, fly someone from DC to LA and it took like 3 hours?0
