Kinda wondering about that as well. But I think if need be they could just space our those 4 episode 2 day openers to further into the season. Maybe just start the year with 1 episode if they are delayed too badly, allowing them to catch up later.
Additionally, John Billingsley has been added to the cast of the real-time thriller as a recurring next season, when the show will be based in Washington.
On "24," from Imagine TV and 20th Century Fox TV, Nordling will play an FBI agent named Larry. Details on Billingsley's character, Latham, have been kept under wraps.
....whoever they are.
But I'll update the first post with the cast so far, seems like FBI is replacing CTU.

nowadays hits you when you're young
When does this start?
No more CTU? That's kinda good, it just keeps getting attacked!
I can't WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone hear there is supposed to be a movie soon too?
Movie plans got put on hold, last I heard.
Should start that 2nd Sunday of January, but there have been some production delays, so depends if they catch up.
I did hear they wanted a clean slate and get rid of CTU altogether.
But no, David Palmer's sister, thank god, will not be president. The only thing I remember her in though is Oceans 12, where she played Matt Damon's mom.

Carlos Bernard as Tony AlmeidaSeptember 20, 2007 -- IT'S official. 'Day Seven' of Fox's monster hit "24" is in production, and you won't believe who they brought back from the dead.
Embattled widower and Bauer best-buddy Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) was not killed at the end of season five after all, Fox said yesterday.
Despite being left for dead in the CTU infirmary, executive producer Howard Gordon pointed out "since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of his last appearance - the '24' tribute to major character's demise - we always kept this as a possibility."
Almeida's return - which has been grist for the rumor mills for the past few months - will come during the new season's two-night premiere in January, the network says.
Another show-stopping secret was also confirmed: the people have elected the first female president of the United States, Allison Taylor, to be played by Cherry Jones.
Filming on this season had been delayed earlier this summer after producers scrapped a planned storyline about Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) fighting terrorists in Africa.
Much of the first part of the season had to be rewritten.
Comedian Janeane Garofalo also joins the cast this spring as an FBI agent assigned to investigate Bauer's "actions in pursuit of justice" during last season.
Bauer's trial brings the story from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C.
Also back for another "day" are "24" fan favorite Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Bill Buchanan (James Morrison).

Yeah, I read that earlier and thought "oh, that is ultra stupid".
Don't get me wrong, I like Tony but that is just stupid!
I thought how he died was retarded, but bringing him back is even more so.
and it's like okay, so tony was alive for an entire season and didn't show up once, wasn't made reference to at all??
Cheese!
no silent count
means not dead
the fact that you can put happy days in the same class as 24
shows your ignorance to tv and tv history.
tony couldnt have died stupid
season 5 can do no wrong
cant have it both ways
please all you *smart people* dont watch
tony being undercover for all this time is genius
im sorry casual fans didnt pick up on tony not being dead.
feel free to continue bashing something that got past you.
It was my favorite show for the first three seasons.. and then everything just got repetitive and cliche. I still look forward to every episode, but not nearly at the same level of excitement.
i wish more people would just not watch instead of announcing to board posters their dissatisfaction with a show and their plans,
these are the same *people* who will continue to watch to gather supposed ammo for their unpopular opinion
had to kill they did better in the 18-49 demo in season 6 than season 5
(which is all that matters)
looked like we were just discussing the show overall. i watched since season 2 and it wasn't until last season that i finally threw my hands up.
so not watch *and* share my opinion? i have the right & pleasure of doing both. so deal with it
*edit for your edit*
i won't be watching for ammo, cuz i wont' be watching. and demographics mean shit. quality is where it's at. and it wasn't in season 6, in my opinion.
posting on a message board is not a right
silly
its called staying within the rules and paying your connection bill
*sigh*
cool i understand now
I have absolutely no idea what a privledge is either, so you can explain it to us right?
uh...what? I guess you're the tv expert and the smartest guy here, since everyone on this board, the rest of the internet, and the real world think this is the single stupidest, most desperate move in the history of television
FIGHTING HELLFISH
*excerpt from Hellfish speech*
I'd like to thank my mom for letting me set up the man cave in the basement. My Dad for letting me live there rent free.
Someone refresh my memory of how he 'died'?
Was it the fight with the robocop guy?
