Am I the only one that cries this much during the holidays?

Everything sets me off.
I don't spend much time in the shops as I get so sad seeing people running around, overspending, pushing, shoving.
I always think of how many kids won't have anything under their tree because there is no money.

And then there are those commercials on the tv...I just saw one from Iams, the petfood. It has this woman that just adopted a dog and she is trying to teach him how to play fetch and he just doesn't get it. She gives up and lays on the floor. Then you see the dog come over and put the ball on the floor next to her.
That breaks my heart too because there are so many animals out there without homes.

People can't afford to pay the oil bill to heat their home and people are trampling a man to death at the local store.

If you see me this season, please wave, say hello, maybe give me a hug.
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
And I don't feel right when you're gone away

I don't want to bring up any sad memories for people...I am sorry crojam.
Why don't people say hello to each other anymore?

I just get overwhelmed by the feeling that so many go without or are without those they love.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome

Last Christmas was the worst time ever for me and my kids. It was the single most miserable time I can ever remember in my life. I viewed most of it through a haze of alcohol and/or tears.
A lot's changed since then, and things can only get better, right?A human being that was given to fly.

I understand what u mean.I think when your a kid its hard to see the ugly side of the holidays...when you grow up its hard not to notice it
Happy Holidays Trix0 -
i know what you mean, it can be quite a challenge to keep faith in humanity, not just at the holidays but all year round. but yes seeing people getting caught up in consumerism and acting like savages during the holidays is particularly disheartening.
that's the main reason i try to do all my shopping online or at local small shops, i can't stand the feeling at the malls....it's like how i feel at a casino, that air of desperation or something. i want the holidays to be what i make it for myself, let the freaks fuck it up for themselves.
it's a tricky thing, staying empathetic to people, keeping perspective that there *are* good people out there, and yet not have complete contempt for humanity, all at the same time.
so keep your chin up girl, and a big hug for you0 -
You're not the only one. I've been crying at the drop of a hat all year... and the end of last.
I really miss that fucking hat.'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

You're not alone. I'm a very senstive person. I cry alot too. Stuff that hurts, stuff that get's me pretty emotional. It's tough. I'm 30, I know. But that's who I am. I get sad alot on stuff like this. Like i've been in tears loosing a friend I would die for to talk to again. But that won't happen ever again.
I've been saving up this holiday season to help kids on the street, hot meals for the soup kitchen, help animal shelter etc.. I donate & help out charities the whole year around, but this time of season, is where things get intense. People spending money, money, money on themselves. Just a few pockets of change, could be sweet to pass down to those kids standing in the cold next the shopping stores looking for help. pass down a can or hot fresh meal. it's feels good in your heart to help other's out.
I might of fucked up many times in my life, but I know where my heart is. And nobody can take that away from me. I'll keep fighting & fighting to get better, just it's gonna take more time.
Happy Holidays TrixieCat!0 -
