Am I the only one that cries this much during the holidays?

The domestic violence agency I worked for has a large shelter and transitional housing program and during the holidays we were overwhelmed with requests from people in the community wanting to "adopt" the families in our program for the holidays. The amount of gifts and food they donated was outrageous! We had to turn people away - and then they would offer to pay a utility bill or help with a rent payment. Many did so anonymously. They'd donate Christmas trees and decorations, invite the families to holiday parties, etc. Entire families did this and the kids would get so excited about buying stuff for other kids. The moms in the programs would never put anything on their wishlists for themselves cause they just wanted their kids to be taken care of, so we'd have to sneak to find out their sizes and the things they liked because the people donating would insist on buying things for the moms too. It definitely made the holidays a whole lot brighter to see that. It would be nice if people thought about these things throughout the year.A human being that was given to fly.

no i dont cry at the holidays... or as we civilised people call it 'Christmas'
i love Christmas
i might cry though if my kids gifts got crushed in a freak anvil dropping accident... but otherwise Christmas makes me happy... and for people in shops i dont care... i do 90% of my shopping online... i hate busy shops and queuing.. so i dont see all those idiots rushing around frantically buying crap cos they left it too late to buy good stuff.oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
*Hugs*"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0
