    so i call at 5, guy picks up and says the owner is out, not there this evening. i leave him my name/number and he asks why i'm calling and i say well i'm the november artist of the month and he says oh yeah, that program is cancelled.

    so i grill the dude, i guess after the woman who originally organized it left, they thought it'd be one less thing to worry about. nevermind the fact that it's the artist that does ALL the work, and it brings in people from outside into their theater who normally wouldn't even go. and that september was the last month, and that's why there was nobody listed for october.

    i go thru the whole thing again with him, how i've been waiting a year, volunteered for the theater, etc etc. he said he'd leave the message for the owner to call, and that he would be there tomorrow. so now i wait AGAIN and see what happens. i was able to find an office number for the owner but they're only open 10-4pm (which nobody at the theater gave me, thanks again!), so i'm gonna call tomorrow morning.

    i'm so fucking angry it's making me sick to my stomach. it just figures, i can't ever cut a fucking break :(

    yeah the fact that they didn't have anybody slated for october because they were gonna drop this, yet didn't have the decency to tell me.....that is what is making me even more pissed.

    i'm hoping the owner calls tonite, i figure i can call the office at 10am tomorrow and hope to get him that way. they should honor their word, that's how i see it. if they told me in september what was going on, that's one thing. waiting for ME to contact them a month before (and now we got 3 weeks left)....that's fucked up.

    the theater is literally down the street. like i can see the sign from my bedroom window. and it's taking all i have to not go down there and look for the owner. i'm in no state to deal with anybody, that's the only thing keeping me back.

    it's just really unfair and unprofessional. and if they want to cancel the program, fine....they can do it after i'm done showing my stuff. i just want them to honor their word. apparently that's asking for too much or something.

    jsut makes me sad and upset.

    i agree that they should honor their word...and if they had planned to cancel the program, they should have informed you...it's sad that you have to find out about it's cancellation weeks before and had you not called, you would have no way of finding out...they really suck!

    let's cross our fingers that tomorrow things will be settled between you and management...and everything will fall into place for your exhibits...

    oh definitely, had i not called and just went along with my plans, i would have expended tons of energy, time and my own money to put this all together.

    it seems like these people cancelled this thing and was hoping people would bail out or not show up, and didn't think to follow up with those that were slated. that is really lame. and i have a feeling that the owner is there but wouldn't come to the phone, i was told someone would write me back today, and i've gotten nothing yet.

    so either they're all clueless or lying, or both. not sure i even want to show my stuff there anymore.

    i sure as hell don't think i need to beg, and i feel disrespected. so i'll see what he says tomorrow. if he's decent and cooperative with me, i'll see how i feel. but if i get even the *slightest* hint that he's as much of a bitch punkass as the rest of the people there have been, then i'm gonna let him have it and tell him to fuck off.

    This is really making me sad and upset for you, love. :( I know how much time and effort you've put into this and how long you've been planning it all.

    I just think it's wrong and I'm outraged for you. I really want to do something to MAKE them reconsider because so many people have been wanting this exhibition of yours and it's utter crap the way they've treated you. It's certainly not the actions of a well run organization.

    I remember when you first said you'd got the exhibition and you sent me the link to the theatre. I can't believe they've done this really. I just wish something could be done.

    thanks jeanie, yeah it's more a feeling of disappointment for me. i feel let down.

    i called the office this morning and talked to the guy that handles the website, and he said the owner would definitely be at the theater this evening, and that it would be my best bet to swing by and see him there.

    he said as far as he knew the program was discontinued, but didn't know if the owner would still be honoring commitments to people who were already slated. he was at least more understanding than the other jackoffs i've talked to so far.

    so 5pm - let the mf'ing games begin lol

    i'm ready to say fuck it, but still want to go and give him hell, just for my own satisfaction.

    well i went to the theater, asked one of the twits in the box office where the owner was, pointed me to the cafe door he was working on. i introduced myself, and how i was the artist for next month. and he says cool, what's up? i said, well, is it still on? lol he said oh yeah, definitely! that he was excited to see my work in person.

    uhhhhh okay lol i said well your staff made it sound like it was cancelled. he said oh no, the program is being discontinued but that they're honoring the people that are still left. me and someone else for december. he said oh i sent an email back to my manager about it, didn't you get it? i said well i'm standing here, so no haha

    WHEW!

    of course now i gotta frame like hella shit this weekend lol but i'm so relieved!

    AND i need to beat the shit out of the assholes that work there lol

    what kinda pissant operation is this place? did ya see the hooka they were all hitting off of? thank god professor moonbeam took the time to straighten this out....i mean, i get the whole artist thing but whathtefuck?!?!

    thank you murien, jeanie and cb for your support and lending an ear to my tirade haha and cb it's a small theater, nothing too huge or impressive, just a start for me though for hopefully more opportunities :)

    been working on my zodiac series all day, got aquarius done today and working on leo, that'll make 5 down....woohoo! i'm hoping i can finish it in time to debut it!
