  • Go to hell, Carolina.

    Duke wins tonight.
No longer overwhelmed it seems so simple now.
  • If both teams are healthy, UNC is a much better team. Unfortunately Ty Lawson didn't play tonight. Sucks for the Hells. Good for zee Devils.
Abraham Lincoln once said, "If you are a racist, I will attack you with the North."
  • Congrats Dookies. They were better tonight. Hopefully we get to watch 2 more. sgossard3, Im a huge lurker, but the UNC Duke post lured me out.

Good game. We can't win with Lawson out and Ellington shooting 3-14. Even if Tyler puts up 28 pts. and 17 boards it isn't enough...
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.
  • Did anyone else notice that there were two people who made their first post ever in this thread? One of which has been a member for 2 1/2 years and the other for almost a year!?

I just found it rather peculiar that this is your coming out party, but welcome!

    And fuck UNC :D

yah it is a lil odd that it takes something completely non PJ related to bring some people out of the woodwork... but whatever does the trick im all for! and it was a great game worth talking about! i think if UNC was completely healthy than duke wouldve just stepped up their game and the result would still be the same... well see come tournament time!

You are crazy to think that the result would be the same with a healthy Lawson. Lawson would create huge matchup problems with the Duke guards. He can penetrate better than Thomas and doesn't turn it over as much as Thomas. Not to mention, a healthy Lawson creates better shot opportunities for everyone, which would have been better for Ellington as most of his shots were contested. I really hope Coach Buy-A-Vowel called Leonard Hamilton and thanked him for having his thug injure Lawson.
  • ha I went to duke and I had no idea last night was the duke-unc game. whoops.

after the huskies beat the orange in the loud house last night, i had the unfortunate pleasure of having the unc/duke game blacked out so i had to endure watching the texas tech/baylor game. can you believe that? i don't know what happened, but we didn't get the game. SOCCER was more interesting than that game. freaking SOCCER! ESPN blew it last night.

btw...i HATE duke. HATE. Passionately. HATE. My favorite thing in the world was watching Rod Sellers piledrive Christian Laettner's head into center court back in the 90s. Awesome.
I love to turn you on

i'm bummed that 'nova never plays a big east team for rivalry week. it's always st. joe's. for my generation, big east games were always a much bigger draw than the big five.

True, but there was a history that has made them rivals. When the A-10 started, Villanova was in it. It left to join the Big East in 1982 when that started up and the A-10 replaced Nova with St. Joe's which were rivals going back to the early goings of the Big 5. That the fact many people from St. Joe's and Temple blame Rollie and Nova for the death of the Big 5 just added more heat to the Nova St. Joe's rivalry.

The rivalry probably isn't as big with students as it is with alumni so I see your point. But I don't see Nova - St. Joe's not being the biggest rivalry in the city anytime soon.
