gracias amigo! i may get a few of those koozies!!!
I will always spread my hatred of Duke to anyone who will listen. Coach Krap is a good coach but not the messiah like most make him out to be. With all the talent he's had through the years you'd figure, if he's such a great coach, he would have cashed it in a few more times. In my book that 2001 title was fucking garbage. It was basically handed to them by the refs and if you weren't wearing Dook colored glasses you could plainly see it.
Also, if Coach Krap was such a great man the 94-95 season where he had his "back issues" and had to take a leave of absence would appear on his record and not his former assistants record. He is a fraud.

I hate Dook too as I'm one of the biggest UNC fans out there. However, it's silly to do the shoulda, woulda, coulda regarding winning NCAA titles. You could do that for any great coach not named John Wooden.
In my mind Dean Smith is the greatest college basketball coach ever, but he only won two NCAA titles and how many great teams did he coach? Granted, I can think of at least three years as I'm typing this that one of his UNC team's should have won the championship. Nevertheless, Smith only winning two titles doesn't negate that he was a great coach. It's just pretty damned hard to win it all.
I do 100% agree with you about the 94-95 season. That was pure crap.

Since when do the games that you don't coach count as part of your record? And like markymark said, UNC has had more talent than Duke over the last 25 years or so and has less to show for it.
I hate how jealous people are over Duke. They've always been a class act and yet get crucified for it. I know it sucks to be on the losing end, but you didn't hear us crying in the mid '90s.

As a fellow Tar Heel fan I understand what you're saying. It just pissed me off because I nearly had a breakdown during that game.

I wouldn't go as far as saying Duke has always been a class act.

Yes, I was pissed off too. I almost needed to go buy a new tv after that game. Good thing the remote slipped when I threw it, as it only left a slight dent in the wall instead of shattering the TV screen.
No offense, that's part of the reason why a lot of the Philly locals don't like Nova. I mean you told me before that you've never been to the Palestra. Roy Williams brings Kansas and North Carolina there, Illlinois has been there when they were number one in the country and lots of other big schools schedule a road game at a mid major like Penn just so their kids can see how historic the arena is.
That, and it also doesn't hurt that Penn has been a good mid-major program in the recent past and a program that a UNC or Illinois could expect to face in the tournament.
I'm fairly certain that UNC wanted to play there because Wayne Ellington is from that area. If its possible and can be worked out on the schedule, Roy Williams tries to schedule games close to a player's hometown if they are fairly far away from home.
