Friends: The Movie

I just heard about this today. Friends was my all time favorite TV show but I never expected a reunion. I guess after all the success of the Sex and the City movie, Friends wanted to get on board. Not sure how I feel about it. Thoughts?

Oh, I love Friends! I don't know about a movie though...they'd all have kids & stuff and I don't think it would be as funny. And it ended sooo well. Also, the show with Joey right after Friends ended bombed, wonder if they would try to incorporate any of that?Check out my Sudsy Chick Etsy Store for all natural homemade bath products!0

They wouldn't have to incorporate Joey stuff - no one watched it.Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0 -
I loved the show but I am not sure how I would feel about a movie
but I guess if it were just a really long episode it would ok?

If anything, they need to avoid making it a really long episode. Cos then it'd just feel like a really, really long episode - like everyone got back on board except the editing room.
But maybe I'm just bitter after the Simpsons movie sucked so much monkey nipple.Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0 -
for christsakes there have to be 100 really good scripts sitting in producers office that would be great movies....friends movie?!?!? i like the show more or less but c'mon!
also this would mean giving david schimmer an acting job and i can't have that....nor should anyone else0 -

I read in the Post that she said her career was ruined after that show-no one will hire her! Yipes. That has to hurt, leaving the Sopranos for...Joey!
but anyway yeah I think that is best left to being a reunion show on TV if anything
I can't imagine them doing anything so spectacular that it needs to be a 2hr movie"...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

My brother watched it too, and I could never understand how... anytime I tried, I wanted to stab myself in the thorax. It took everything that was wrong with the latter seasons of Friends, and removed all lingering good stuffs.
But that wasn't even the point I was making - I was just saying that, because so few people actually watched the show, including stuff from it would just confuse the issue.
I'd agree that a TV special is the way to go if they have to do anything, but I just can't see a Friends reunion being a good thing for anything except their wallets.Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0 -
i wonder if it will have the "we were on a break" joke. id go see it but im more excited hoping for the arrested development movie!0

there have been some great movies out lately by hollywood standards:
WALL - E
Iron Man
Wanted
are all quality entertaining movies ... it's better than it has been ...0 -
Loved the show back in the day, i still enjoying watching certain seasons now. But, a movie would probably be awful. I liked season 9 but season 10 was pretty bad, so trying to continue on in any way won't work.
But, i'll still check it out

It's not confirmation but its pretty good."This town deserves a better class of criminal... and I'm gonna give it to them."0 -
sounds like a bad idea to me, but other than the South Park movie, I haven't been fond of movies based off of a TV show0
-
Yeah, I remember they talked about making a movie even right after season 9 ended. Jennifer Aniston said she didn't want to be involved nor think it was a good idea...because the show had been so successful she didn't want to risk it by dragging it on. I guess after SATC was a blockbuster...well, money talks. This is the greatest band in the world -- Ben Harper0

I'm not too sure about a movie. I was a fan of the show in the beginning but I think it was on too long. These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0

I'm a big fan of the show (saw the 10 seasosn at least 4 or 5 times)...
Personally, I would be happy to see a movie. Even if it's not as good as the TV show, it will certainly be as good as many shitty comedies...2006: Antwerp, Paris
2007: Copenhagen, Werchter
2009: Rotterdam, London
2010: MSG, Arras, Werchter
2012: Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin
2014: Amsterdam, Stockholm0 -
