If I lost a friend, because he cheated on his wife, and I knew about it, and told his wife, even if it was my dearest mate, I would not want them living a lie. something like that can only be absolute.

but it's not mine to tell. I too would be willing to lose a friend... but if somebody else is NOT, it's not my place to make that choice FOR THEM! Don't get me wrong, I have no respect for the people I know the stuff about and I make that clear... they disgust me... but if somebody chooses to tell me something, it doesn't make it mine!

Ah ok... I get ya... but ya know what they say how ya never know what you'd do til you're in that situation? I thought I'd go down the 'they have a right to know' route also... but when you risk losing someone close cos of a secret about people you don't really know that wouldn't be your secret unless that close person had told you in the first place well in THIS case, it really is not my place.
