not only that , but I seem to remember the guy taking less money to play here, and in order to stay here in NYC.

Gotta love Dubi taking on the fighting penalty- i liked him rolling up his sleeves and knocking off his helmet.

what the hell was Sara Palin doing there with her 2 daughters ?
With all The Alaskans on NYR, it seems that her appearance wouldve made more sense up at The Garden ,.......just saying ,.....

well if new york was considered a swing state, it might have happened but new york is historically a democratic voting state in the presidential elections so republicans devote little energy to campaigning here.

Dan Fritsche will make his Ranger debut as third line left winger in place of Pat Rissmiller, whose ankle is hurting after a spill the other day (Petr Prucha and Nigel Dawes are the other scratches again).

on another topic, if you're watching the maple leaf game, you're seeing why ryan hollweg is an ex-ranger. he hit someone from behind with the leafs up 3-0. that drew a five-minute power play and the Blues score twice to tie it up.

    Cherepanov Tragedy
Ranger draftee Alexei Cherepanov tragically died during his club's game in Russia tonight, according to various sources confirmed by an announcement by the Rangers. Initial unconfirmed reports say that the collision took place during a shift change with former Ranger Jaromir Jagr, who was distraught as his young protege collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. But Omsk coach Reg Fleming told TSN.ca that Cherepanov collapsed on the bench and that he could not connect it to any specific event that happened during the game. Problems getting an ambulance and working defibrillator appear to have contributed to the problem. Our deepest sympathies to the young man's family, friends, and teammates.

Diablows a tough test for us?
    with Bobby Holik ?
    Mar- tin Brodeur ?

    dont make us laugh
    they didnt show up

Tampa Bay in Prague , with a time difference and back to back was a tougher test for us really :)

how good is Dubi lookin ' ?

im wondering if we will see prucha again or will he be traded away ?

here in ny,....news updates on WFAN have implied that there may have been negligence in the initial treatement to cherepanov, ( no defibs or ambulances nearby )-- making a bad situation even worse.

I'd be curious to see prucha on the third line with callahan and let lauri korpokowsi sit for a few games or even go back to hartford.

UPDATE: Just spoke to a Russian TV journalist here at the Garden and was told that from back home, as far he has heard, Cherepanov did in fact collide with a teammate, but that it wasn't Jagr -- Jagr was however sitting next to Cherepanov on the bench when he collapsed.

UPDATE [8:00]: Jagr spoke to the Rangers by phone and said that there was no collision on which Cherepanov was hurt. He said he and Cherepanov had just come off the ice after an unsuccessful two on one and were on the bench talking when he just collapsed. He was at one point revived and was aware of his surroundings, but when the defibrillator was brought in, its batter was dead, according a Russian reporter.
