I BrisK I wrote:Ive played this game a lot and its great. Don't bash it unless you have played it. Its great fun
but yeh get your own room and computer
I never said it wasn't fun. I live in a dorm where I have to have a roommate, but school will be out in a couple weeks
And when a video game runs someone's entire life, and that person is completely selfish and keeps on shouting into his computer mic while I have open books on my bed clearly attempting to study, I think I have plenty of room to bash. Also I actually have played it, so I can also bash for that reason. Just because you have played this game and enjoyed it, doesn't mean you should take my roommate's side who is clearly in the wrong. I have no idea what point you are trying to make.

Kick his ass really bad and break that game in half. He'll hate you at first but like 5 years down the line you'll get a phone call and he'll thank you for saving his life."Makes much more sense to live in the present tense." Ed Ved

EDIT: This comment is directed at anyone who plays that game, or anyone who plays videogames more than 5 hours a week.
I have, in my house, An Atari 2600, a Nintendo NES, A Sega genesis, an N64, a Playstation, an Xbox, and an XBOX 360.
I play the Xbox 360 about 2 hours a week, tops........and I play the NES about once a month when I have guests over.
That being said.....people need to find some balance and get the hell out and interact with actual living people. Message boards, virtual worlds, and Super-multi-player games dont count.
Exactly, I agree! My roommate seems to want a girlfriend, yet probably hasnt interacted with a girl in person, other than the casual hellos, in months!!!
What happens to people like this when they graduate from college? He won't have had any great friends in college that he'll talk to after graduation. His only friends from home are the ones he talks to while he plays his game. He will have no idea how to interact with a real live human.
Sometimes when his friend comes over, he shoos him out of the room, in a joking way, but you can tell he is really trying to get him to leave by ignoring him so he can play his game.
And I think its funny you say people that play games more than 5 hours a week need to get a life, when my roommate plays 8-10 hours a day as well as many other people. What can you say to them?*Official Marker in the Sand Fan Club Junkie*

as long as they dont make World of Starcraft I'll be ok. I played Starcraft religiously.
oh noes!!! i feel the urge to play it again. must..not...give...in.0 -
i bought wow cause my friend played it and i was bored. so i played it for awhile and was like yeah its cool. then spring break came around and i was like weeeeeeeeee i can play for hours. and i did. i played like 10-12 hours a day. but after break i didnt have the time and the game isnt much fun unless you can put 2-3 hours a day into.
then another friend that started after me was like you quitted because you sucked, im already lvl 40 and youre still 33. and i was like dude i dont have time to play this game all day anymore so im not wasting money every month. some people take this game too serious. mind you this other friend doesnt work or go to school or anything. he called me and a friend over to his house the other week so we could hang out. i guess his idea of hanging out is watching him play wow.
i had my fun with wow i played for like 2 months and i may play again when i have free time but i dont understand how people can let this game consume their lives. honestly the game play isnt that great, its very mindless. but it has a great sense of accomplishment, which is what probably has people always coming back for more.
just wait until he is asleep and password the computer. or uninstall it. the game takes like an hour to install. he'll get the idea after awhile.0 -
OMG my ex was addicted to this game! He said he been playing since he was about 11 I think? Has it been around that long? Anyway we could RARELY do anything on a Friday night because that is when he and his "group" would play together. When I was over I even saw him not answer phone calls from the few friends he had or from family because he was playing his game. But yeah, I don't blame you for being annoyed!0

I tried it, at first I was like. . man this is so damn cool. After awhile though it kinda gets boring.
Why pay for a game that you have to keep paying every month just to play?
Now GH3? I love that game.I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.0 -

i play my 360 well over 5 hours a week and believe i have 'a real life'.
when i get home from work i jump on for about 1 hr until my wife gets home then we get things done.
i try to only play when shes not home or when she's asleep.
Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks0 -
Former WOWer here. I played it for a while, had some fun times because of the game, but not like you'd think. My friends and I would play this game at each others house and get bored and go out to eat at 2am and such, that was fun.
But yeah, the game can get very addicting. Obviously not quite to that point because it was annoying hearing people yell at you because you 'stole aggro.' I'll never play again, but had fun while i did.Happiness is only real when shared0 -

Ohhh how I miss those games! I only played WoW in Beta and got bored with it quickly. Now Everquest...that is an addictive game! The game keeps track of the hours played and people had years logged into the game, it was crazy!
Unfortunately with school and having a life I didn;t have time to play anymore :P
Oh and we couldn't talk while playing...that would just ruin the game to hear a 13 year old kid yell at me :PCincinnati '03 Flooded venue!

"how do you kill that which has no life"
Yea that episode is amazzzzzzzzzingggggg!!!!! I think my roommate liked it too though. He also mightve said something like, "you cant really appreciate that episode, unless you play the game." like he was honored to be made fun of. I think thats bullshit, I appreciated that episode waaaaaaay more than he did, because I could relate to the fact of how ridiculous those gamers lives are.*Official Marker in the Sand Fan Club Junkie*
