ok, i'm not saying that women like to be with assholes, but maybe the problem is that they get bored. they probably like a little challenge every now and again, they want a guy with ambitions, someone who pays attention to her but also has other goals to reach in life.0

As I said, I never did anything wrong to her and basically treated her like royalty and she broke up with me out of nowhere yet I would still at least have the decency to at last smile and say hi yet she noticed me walking by so she just moved out of the way and didnt even look at me.
i hope you understand that i'm not trying to give you any shit in here, but you've got to forget about this and stop thinking about her because they only person who is feeling hurt is you.
maybe she didn't say 'hi' to you because she knows she's upset you and doesn't know how you feel towards her, maybe she was scared and was waiting if you would start talking to her first0

that's got nothing to do with it.....if you come upon somebody you know or once knew, acknowledge them....she didn't need to hold a 5 minutes conversation but at least say hi. how's it going?....he says great...he asks her, she responds....22 fucking seconds out of her life wouldn't have killed her :rolleyes:0

I agree with the OP. There is no problem with wanting to be acknowledged by someone you used to care about. I would want to say hi and maybe have a 1 minute conversation with my ex, it's always nice to see how people are doing that you used to know very well.*Official Marker in the Sand Fan Club Junkie*

what if it was a messy break up? my first ex and i broke up with each other, after a trip that gone horribly wrong, and when we saw each other in the pub we didn't say nothing to each other not even a nod, although i did notice him looking at me at one point. and now a year later we are talking to each other again but this time i'm keeping my distance, seeing him once or twice a year is good enough for me. 0 but this time i'm keeping my distance, seeing him once or twice a year is good enough for me. 0

I don't think the op is feeling all that hurt, in fact I am sure he will forget about this whole thing in a few hours. He is just confused and a little insulted at why someone would just completely ignore you. I don't think he is sitting in a corner beating himself over such a small issue, but it is something that makes you go 'wtf? why would she just blow me off like that? oh well' I am sure the point of the thread is basically to see if anyone has had a similar occurrence.*Official Marker in the Sand Fan Club Junkie*

i'm just talking about common courtesy genie....he didn't seek her out...it was a chance meeting...according to pjoasis this was a gf from long ago....at some point she needs to move on...her actions just seem immature and petty0

as someone else pointed out in here, she maybe have felt awkward, why didn't the OP say "hi" to her first?0

Now that I think about it I saw my ex this summer and completely blew her off.
I was pretty drunk and my friends and I were walking back from the beach at like 1am. She, her boyfriend, another girl I know, and maybe someone else were walking in the opposite direction. I got all excited to see the other girl and hugged her and asked how she was etc and all I did was scan the rest of their crowd and didn't say hi to any of them.
If I were sober or less drunk I would have said hi, but I think I didnt say hi because I didnt want to make a drunken fool of myself, idk. All I know is I would like to say hi to her and catch up for a few minutes.*Official Marker in the Sand Fan Club Junkie*

He said he wanted to say hi but she turned her back to him when he got close, clearly giving him the sign that she didn't want to be said hi to.*Official Marker in the Sand Fan Club Junkie*

My favorite is when I am walking on the quad and I make eye contact with someone I know like 30ft away. You can't say hi just yet because that's just weird so we break eye contact. As I get within in 5-10ft I try to reestablish eye contact to say 'Hi' but they continue looking at the ground because they don't know what to do in that situation. So we don't say hello.
If I saw that same person when we were only 5-10ft apart to begin with they would say hi. Add in the 30ft awkwardness before hand and they don't say hi. People are so awkward.*Official Marker in the Sand Fan Club Junkie*

Dude...seriously, my ex bf does the same thing to me when I've seen him at bars. Averts eyes and moves around me....I find it hilariously childish.believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.
