    I just sent an email to my siblings and mom that included a link to a left-wing news report. At a animal rights convention I went to recently one of the speakers noted that some people may challenge you because they just like to hear themselves talk, but some may ask you questions because they are truly interested. I tried to put it in a way that was not a challenge, but if they are interested in left-wing discussion, that link may be of interest. I also recognize that I will have to honor their news links etc etc etc.

    Usually I back away from political discussion, and most discussions, with my family because I don't want to argue, and I don't know how to argue without getting emotional. I'm assuming that they do not think politically the same way I do. Maybe I'll find out I'm wrong. I talk to them so rarely, but at least they know I'm still here in email.

    I decided to include this link, with a lot of book reviews, and questions about them, so that they know what I'm about now. I don't talk to them much, except my twin. Life's weird. I'm assuming, again, that they'll just think I'm treading my own path . . .

    my grandma went out to celebrate what would have been her 60th anniversary with her husband (he died 2 years ago) yesterday. She was dining alone and asked to pay her bill and the waitress at the restaurant said someone in the restaurant had already paid for her. she was with my grandpa every day for 3 years while in the nursing home for 12 hours+ a day. I'm glad that someone gave her some help on that day.

    Did she know who it was? Maybe someone that was visiting the same nursing home?

    Nope, no one told her who it was. Either way, it really made my day and got to thinking how little gestures (i'm sure it was no more than 10 bucks for the dinner) can go a very long way.
