and here's the cold hard facts for all the rest of the nfl

New England is so sophisticated and complex -- even through the Patriots cleverly did nothing exotic Saturday that might aid next week's AFC conference title game opponent in film study -- one wonders whether the Pats can be stopped short in their relentless pursuit of a 19-0 season and a Super Bowl XLII title.

Garrard was very good last night.
Much better player than I thought.
Kept them in the game all night.
The D and the running game for the Jags got all the press, but Garrard was the reason it was a close game.

Brady was about as close to perfect as it comes.
Both incompletions should have been caught.

    Love those Saturday night games.
Today is a relax and recovery day.

I would agree, at least to the parts of the game I saw. It seems they were holding some there offense back and showing different side of that offense in the mean time. As it was a beautiful end to the game.

jeremy green does not equal many national pundits. does it occur to you that he was sticking to his guns with the jags to stir up some interest with his column? i mean it was only on the front page of espn.com almost all week. and obviously the jags could have won the game last night...you either win or you don't.

and here's the dozen or so national pundits that chose the pats to win:

one person out of ESPN's what, 50 anchors, ex nfl players, coaches et al ... and you stated ESPN was "all over" the pats losing ... s'all good ... just an odd choice of words.

What a surprise time to get ready for The Chargers and their defense. S. Merriman is a force to be reckon with.

i think the pats will win, but i wouldn't go that far.

how many people (including myself) thought that colts vs. pats in the afc championship game was a certainty?
  • I would've said Pats vs. unknown. However I am not surprised at all that the Colts couldnt get here.

I surely like the Pats chances of going 19-0 now.
90% chance. the 10% is if the Packers beat the Giants.

There's something about that team that makes me think about the Super Bowl that happened 10 years ago. Packers vs. Broncos, remember that? Farve was the MVP and they were the defending champs and out of nowhere an old Elway and his underdog crew won.
Now, it's the Pats who are the big dogs, and Farve and the Packers the underdog team.

Damn, can't wait for next week. I'm kinda surprise the Bolts made here. Having an AWFUL first half against Titans and barely beating the Colts. But I guess they deserve to be here.

Igor Olshanky ... proving yet again, the Chargers do not know when to shut the hell up.

  • This game is gonna be good. I mean the sheer volume of hatred from the Chargers is unbelievable. They always go to the class card when they have zero themselves.

philip rivers has a mcl strain/sprain and LT has a hyperextended knee. both will most likely be questionable, if not game time decisions.
