Newark/NJPAC help please

Just wondering if anyone that is familiar with the area could provide some info. I understand that there are restaurants in the venue (I think?) but I was just wondering if there are any cool little bars or restaurants in walking distance that would be a nice spot to have some beers and a quick meal.

Also, is there any cheaper parking other than the underground parking available thru NJPAC? thanks for any help

    There are ton's of parking lots in the area, especially since the new arena opened up a couple blocks from NJPAC.

    Most of the bar/taverns are 3-4 blocks away either behind the train station (MMMbellos, Mompou, Fournos, Iberia Tavern and many others) or just north of NJPAC near the Rutgers campus (Kilkennys or whatever it's called these days, 27 Mix, McGoverns etc...)
    Don Pepe is very close to the venue and has a small bar area and big dining room.

    There's also new place very close to the venue with a nice big bar and a cool jazz/r&b vibe called The Key Club and also a small bar inside the Robert Treat Hotel across from the venue.
