Best PJ show ever?
Would most people here agree that Soldier Field '95 is one of, if not THE best PJ shows ever?

Ed's voice is too shot for me to be considered the best. Amazing nonetheless."The leads are weak!"

I would've loved to see that whole leg. Thats so awesome. Greg Graffin is one of the most unique and talented musicians out there.0 -

Friends of mine that weren't PJ fans were quite offended that BR was opening for PJ instead of the other way around."The leads are weak!"

my cousin who was at soldiers field said the energy that night was like no other show he has ever been to... there was rumors flying around that it would maybe be PJ's last concert from what ive heard... its obviously an insane venue! the setlist is REALLY solid! i hope they play there again sometime! and when the weathers nice... none of that rolling stones playing in subzero temperatures shit!
isnt atlanta from that year supposedly incredible as well? i havent listened to that boot for a long time but i think theres always been alot of hype with that show too0 -

You probably are thinking of Atlanta '94. That night was special because so many of us were eavesdropping via FM radio.
PJ were some big-ass dreamers then, broadcasting their entire concert across the land for free...What were they thinking?

My vote for best-ever PJ show would have to be the second Randall's Island show in '96 or the second MSG show in '98.
Las Vegas and the second Seattle show from '00 get honorable mention from me.

Soldier Field 95 was my first PJ show, and it still to this day is the best fucking concert ever. I still remember buying the bootleg months later for $85....... and it was well worth the price.0 -
i would say seattle 2-00 as well. as it could have beenthere last show period.restlesssoul wrote:i will chime in and say seatlle 2000 II and mike is with me. i dont know any other band member who has come forward and said what the best show they think the band has played. gorge 05 was pretty funkin unbelievable too, but this night will be with me forever and what went on in that arena.

Of what I have seen I would have to say either MSG2 98 or State College 03. State College was such a "you had to be there show" . The boot is amazing but being there was insane. Every thing about that show was perfect. Release opener. 2 improvs. What probably is the best Betterman ever. The Satan's Bed failed attempt. One of the best Daughters ever. The whole Porch speech in the middle when Ed starts talking about we are a "force to reckon with" and then doing the guitar mirror thing with the lights and he scans the whole crowd, and the very last spot he gets to is a guy holding a Penn State Flag, and Ed leaves it on him for a minute while the crowd goes nuts. Ed putting on the Dr J jersey thrown on stage. The daring the crowd to leave. The 40+ minute third encore. That show was fucking great.
the vic was good too.
