  • Theres a video of Leash floating around, but some muppet is singing over it (even humming over Mikes solos) so you cant hear it too good. From what ive gathered its pretty cool.

  • Bayleaf if you poke your head in here, check your PM's.

Anyone else know of contacts or people involved in music in Auckland or around NZ? A mate of mine is trying to get a demo cd out and about, and he's gotta do better than the last reply he got from....ZM. They said it wasnt "catchy" enough. This particular song is about as catchy as it gets, I think what they mean is it wasnt written by Chris Brown

Ha ha ha. Funny shit man. Fuck Chris Brown. I saw him on Campbell Live. I forgot family guy was on C4. Hopefull I'm gonna get a guy to record a couple of my songs. Not cause I wanna get airplay but just as some sorta permanant place for my music. Hopefully he can put some leads over it casue he's a way better guitarist than me. I just stick to vocals and my shitty excuse for rhythm guitar.

Yikes, Ive always been a fan of Campbell, but that sucks. You could sing about loving fly women and write some real airy fairy lyrics about im gonna love you always as long as the sun sets over the hills etc, and get your shit on ZM. I reckon itd work.

I was thinking more along the lines of someone on a radio station or a label etc. Theyve managed to get a demo to Jono on the Rock, so hopefully that goes well. I used to go to school with him but was a couple of years behind so dont think I could help.
Isnt Storytellers tomorrow night? Anyone know what is the go with this show? Ive heard the STP version but unsure what its all about.

  • This is one of the bands at the West Memphis gig....might pass. This sounds like complete rubbish.

Formed in 2002 in Auckland, New Zealand, Ward 10 have been making waves and playing to enthusiastic, enthralled and, at times, sickened crowds ever since. With comments on the bands' sound such as "a non-stop mind-f#@king roller coaster of electro-metal pounding sickness!!!" and "a seamless 50 minute stomping collection of technically proficient epic tracks that pound you in the head continuously then stop to let you take a breath before thumping you in the face yet again...!" these guys are on top of their game and definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Ward 10 are everything but conventional with 50 minute songs and a backing track of beats including samples, bizarre noises and even a trumpet solo! Plus, where else are you gonna see a gimp playing an electrified cello! Although, surprisingly, he chooses to play it standing up, rather than sitting down and wrapping his legs around the large vibrating piece of wood…

Ward 10 will play anywhere and everywhere and, for a band as unconventional as Ward 10, success in the New Zealand Battle of the Bands would seem like an uphill struggle. Yet despite being far removed from what would be considered mainstream and radio friendly, the band has made it through to the regional final three years running. A great achievement given the diverse range of judges the band has impressed over the years and is a testament to the bands' strong writing and performances.

it says it in the name... adn i think putting "gimp" in a passage thats supposed to be promoting the band was a wrong move.....

Yeah, I read about that. I sympathise with you. Though I assure you, your pain will be only slightly more than ours, if they indeed skip NZ again.
A small girl smiles...one eyelid flickers, she whips a pistol from her knickers. She aims it at the preacher's head. And run (run, bang) she shoots him dead.
  • Hey Kiwis. I've decided to get my shit together and get over what happened on Friday. The quicker I pay off the damage the better. Once I get that outta the way I can get back on track. I've put my video iPod on Trademe. iPods will be around for along time so I suppose I could do with out it for awhile. I'm gonna be car pooling and taking buses for awhile. Which is a bigger pain in the arse for me than it sounds. I live in Feilding, and work and study in Palmy. All during the week so its a real bitch not to have my own wheels. Just hope the car isn't written off. Anyway let's just hope for some NZ shows. Cheers people.
  • Too bad an All Black didnt wack someone with your purse, then you'd be sorted. (and I know you have a purse...)
