Duh to me and you maybe but for a republican to say that so openly, in front of a large crowd....now that is rare.

And isn't that the kind of Republican the U.S. needs? Unless you want to stick with your old school cronies...

Its crazy to think that the control of the world's largest oil reserves was not a priority during the planning of the war.

    (p.s. Watch out Brazil!)

It's not news i guess, but they keep saying little things in round about ways that confirm that what we thought was right all along.
Keep on rockin in the free world!!!!

The economy has polarized to the point where the wealthiest 10% now own 85% of the nation’s wealth. Never before have the bottom 90% been so highly indebted, so dependent on the wealthy.

they hate our freedoms, they have WMD's, they are harboring Al Qaeda and the smoking gun will be a mushroom cloud in the US. Nobody ever mentioned oil, it was assumed by many, but couldn't be sold as a reason for war.

Red state America was ready to kick some terrorist ass.

I don't think I ever heard that oil wasn't a (one of many) factor in this war. why do u sound so surprised?

I don't think I ever heard one of the pro-war politicians ever admit the occupation of Iraq had anything to do about securing our oil interests.

I thought it was about how Barack Obama is a Muslim (who hates America) and attends a Christian church by Rev Wright (who hates America)?

    Remember those moronic comments:
"If the war in Iraq was about oil.. why are gas prices going up?"
    ...
They are going up BECAUSE of the War in Iraq... you fucking idiot!!!
    ...
I mean... it's just so fucking obvious... isn't it? What DON'T these fucking idiots understand? Well, other than simple fucking logic, that is.

I remember those comments posted here, even. And the WMD debate went on long after we didnt find any. Then it was how Saddam was an evil man who funded terrorists.

I was curious as to the opinion of those types upon hearing this come out of John McCain's mouth.

But it really doesn't matter anyways. They have sold yet a new rationalization to the the public. And this one is all 'humanitarian' so who can say no? We have to stay there indefinitely because we broke the country. We have to stay there and continually break the country even more, build more hostility, in a place where we aren't even wanted and arm both sides of a civil conflict that we have a vested interest in prolonging.

think the war in Iraq has nothing to do with oil prices. Exxon recorded the highest profit by a company ever. Twice in 2 years.

Seems the oil prices are going up simply because the oil companies are raising them.

with one breath he admits the war is based on a lie and the other says he'll support occupation for 100 years.
