Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
He was very assertive and ran over his time like everyone else.
He insisted on being given a chance to respond, and forced the moderator back on topic if they tried to paint him with an off subject remark ...
BASICALY HE OWNED THEM ALL!

The 9/11 dig question was really underhanded.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I again thought he looked like an ass. he is a worse speaker then bush.
although I did like his answer when the asshole fox guy asked about all his nutcase 9/11 conspiracy followers.
of course he cant tell them what to do. its called freedom of speech, freedom of though, freedom or opinion. I dont want a president telling me not to believe something. he said, personally, doesnt believe in any of that bullshit and thats all I need to know.0 -
Did anyone catch the Luntz focus group charade?
And the "public interest graph" Luntz superimposed over the candidates when Thompson and McCain made their extreme pro war rhetoric statements and the graph peaked way up. Then when RP made his get of of Iraq anti war sentiment it showed the graph dropping right off the screen and Luntz say "gee...that's the lowest rating we've seen ever!"
What a bunch of nonsense that entire piece was. Talk about societal mental programming. Really dubious. Fox news is a social engineering warfare "program your head for the cause" channel....straight out.

yea that was ridiculous. the people texting in afterwards seemed to have a different opinion.. (paul 32%, thompson 22%.... 9ui11iani and mccain in single digits)i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam0 -

I know eh? Hannity looked pissed. Luntz was showing everyone in the focus group saying RP lost hands down, then the viewer text polls showing the exact opposite. haha...too funny. I also noticed they didn't show the results of the polls a whole lot, and they skipped them altogether when they said they would be back after commercial break with more text poll results.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

'I'm going to make your bosses nervous, was it right to include Paul in the debate'?
Anyone know what this meant? Someone else commented on it on the youtube video posted, but I couldn't find an answer. The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance,
but the illusion of knowledge.

i didn't see the first one, but when he was asked about Iran and misheard the question being about the nonviolent reaction...brick hume didn't have to be a dick, even if RP didn't answer the exact question his reply still fit in w/ that question! then the rest snickered....standin above the crowd

I like Ron Paul and the more I read about him I think i will vote for him but I have a question and I am being serious and not degrading anyones opinion.
I asked one of my friends what he thought of Ron Paul and his response was, "Aren't all of his followers those 9/11 conspiracy idiots?" Now my question is, do you think Ron Paul having a large following among 9/11 cospirators is hurting him in this election?Seeing visions of falling up somehow.

I don't know if having them as supporters is hurting him as much as his supporters acting like conspiracy nutjobs. I've seen polls that suggest that a lot of people believe that there is more to the 9/11 story then the 9/11 Commission report---however, when people see people acting like conspiracy nutjobs it doesn't look to favorably on the candidate.0 -

This and other traits of his disciples are costing him a great deal of publicity for his more mainstream ideals.0 -

No.
The real problem is that his ideals are no longer mainstream, as you suggest.
They have been utterly discarded by EVERY politician running, and discounted by the media.
Thus, the public, though they feel in their gut that "change" is needed ... have no way to validly quantify the action needed.
Ie. MISGUIDED.

Many of his ideas would be considered mainstream enough for coverage if so many of his followers did not come off as such fanatical lunatics.
Politics is, as much as many people hate to admit it, still to a certain extent, a game of image. One part of the game is getting the candidate's name out, which Congressman Paul's supporters have been very successful at doing. The second part of the game is making sure the candidate looks presentable. The image that is being presented by the most vocal supporters of the Congressman is one of mental instability. This does not play very well to a broad audience and tends to marginalize a candidate. If that was the goal for the supporters then they have been very successful on both counts. Normally a goal is to make a candidate look appealing though at which the supporters of Congressman Paul have failed miserably.
Even without the damage caused by his most vocal supporters, the Congressman would probably not have a chance in the Republican Primary in most states. Many of his ideas do not fit the office that he is running for right now (Republican nominee for President as opposed to President). He would be taken much more seriously though if the supporters did not do so much damage to his nationwide image.0 -

You're right,
it's 70% image,
30% smooth talk.
ZERO % substance.
THAT Is why Ron Paul is in trouble.
He does not placate soundbytes, and his positions are THE MOST logical of ANY up for nomination, they just also require the MOST amount of thought to digest.
It is no wonder, and not to be a dick about this, but they put up a post about he IQ Bell Curve over on the RP forums, and scores upon scores of respondents were 120+ IQs ...
It takes someone with a brain to figure out that HE isn't crazy, THE SYSTEM is crazy.

You missed the whole point of that post.
You need the image for people to get to the substance. If his followers were not such mental cases, maybe his ideas could get some more attention.
Also, you will note that I did not say the Congressman was crazy. He is just misrepresented by the followers who project an image of him.0
