Me, I make a point of visiting each of these sites on a daily basis (except for the last one, which I only visit sporadically):

http://www.campaigndiaries.com/

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/

http://tpmelectioncentral.com/

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/

http://www.barackobama.com/index.php

http://www.hillaryclinton.com/

So where do you get YOUR news from? I'm always looking for new political websites these days. Please share yours.

  • i try to get my news from as many sources as possible. getting news from one source or one "side" is a pretty bad idea. only getting news from leftist internet sites is about as dumb as watching foxnews all day, IMO.

I should've pointed out that I watch CNN, browse two local NY papers and the Wall Street Journal, and my homepage is Yahoo. I like to click the "News" section of Yahoo and delve into the Politics page there first thing in the morning.

I also watch CSPAN and CSPAN2.

    You?

So sorry, Mr. Smith, for confusing you with Mr. Brian. My bad!

oh that wasnt pointed at you. just in general, my bad. MrBrian confuses me too, since my first name is Brian. i wonder if his last name is Smith.

yeah Yahoo is my home page too. I also read a few newspapers and check the a few news sites and blogs. I even check Al-Jazeera sometimes for the hell of it, heh. but lately i dont have much time since i started my new job.

plus i've found that news depresses the shit out of me if i get too crazy. i have to take breaks heheh. Ignorance really is bliss.

Maybe you should change your name to DRsmith, heh heh. Danger, Danger, Will Robinson!!!

All kidding aside, ignorance may be bliss, but ignorance gets us nowhere. I know you're smart enough to know that, but in this day and age -- at this point in time -- ignorance really needs to go the wayside if we're gonna get anywhere. I know you know that. I just hope the rest of America (and the world) knows it too.

The time for change has come. Stay blissful and ignorant, lose your rights. It's coming down to that.

Stay smart, humans. Please, stay informed.

    *gets off soapbox*

By the way, ever since seeing "V for Vendetta", I have found Mr. Smith to be incredibly sexy. ;)

Znet is one of the sites I visit for news along with a visit once in awhile to CNN-MSNBC. Local papers here The Palm Beach Post and The Washington Post. Various other updates on net including http://www.smirkingchimp.com/ and Democracy Now.

You obviously didn't check it out much. AND don't understand the importance of alternative media.

This is turning out to be a cool thread, in that we can all start learning about new sources of news.

    New sources of news....?

Isn't that an oxymoron? Anyway, it also might show us how to become more openminded and fair, if we all start reading each other's news sources, don't you think?

    Win/win.

    Carry on.

    Oh, YEAH! THOSE guys!!

Okay, so if I remember them correctly, Hannity is the black haired dude, and not the one with the raised eyebrow and lazy eye who wears glasses?

I also dimly remember watching O'Reilly -- and getting his book -- autographed!! -- when I was still a diehard Republican.

    Must've been 2000, maybe 2001....

was being highly sarcastic...Hannity has gotten worse over the years. He's just vile now. The sad part is he's really clueless but indignant about his beliefs (beyond belief). The sadder part is he doesn't realize his gov't has turned him into a racist without him knowing it.

If I'm looking for "news," I pretty much stay off of politicians' own web pages.
