    first of all he is a Senator not a Congressman and if you are going to judge him by his voting record in the Senate then NO HE HAS NOT A PROVEN LEADER...HE IS A PROVEN BOOTLICKER and Anti-American!!!

    All im saying is he seems to be under a lot of scrutiny already ( negative ) and he hasnt even been sworn in yet......

    Every president gets scruntized before, during, and after they are elected. Get use to it. Doesn't matter who gets elected.

    this is a proven leader of congress, a proven trustworthy individual , a man of high respect in washington, so why is Barack Obama under such scrutiny? I will never understand why this man isnt being given the same chances as anyone else who has won the white house without the " so called " experience. please shar your thoughts here.....ty

    Anyone winning the job of the highest executive office in the land is under intense scrutiny. Now unlike anytime before because of the world wide web and people having opportunities to voice thier opinion not to mention an incredibly far reaching media. The ability to handle intense pressure is part of the job.

    Honestly if anything all our politicians should be under intense scrutiny. That's a good thing. Keeps them focused and in check.

    Experience in office is overrated. His team ran a great campaign and they raised something like 600 Million dollars. I'd say he's going to get briefed on everything he needs before he takes the oath. I think I guess the question is can he make the right decisive decision consistantly but that's a question of every president. Experience is the most overrated aspect of any politician in fact it could be viewed as a negative. I'd rather examine the ability to critically think.

    you also have to take into acount that even though 50 million people voted for him, 47 or so million people voted for someone else, he brought up this fact in his speech to his credit. Disagreement is normal and common.

    Here is my (hopefully) unbiased opinion:

    * Relatively new to the political scene (versus Bush / Clinton)
    * New President Elect
    * Internet / Blogs / Global News Wires
    * Sour Grapes from conservatives
    * Scary / Negative news sells better the happy / positive news
    * Talk Radio
    * Unclear policies (my opinion - don't freak out on me)

    World communication and technology has increased ten-fold in just the last four years. It should be interesting to see how the next six months unfold.

    When the platform is change, any new president would be heavily scrutinized.

    Because this is America... a land where people are too insecure to see a minority in a leadership position, despite his qualifications.

    What bullshit. So, was BUsh under a microscope because he was black? CLinton? Bush sr? Reagan? Carter? All black guys.

    Get used to this. Any criticism of a Presidential action over the next four years will be considered racist.

    really well stated and agree on all counts.
    bottomline, as mentioned...it simply comes with the job. i don't think he's being anymore scrutinized than any other president elect.

    btw - 53 million. :)

    After GW, that "worst" bar is set pretty damn low. I am not sure we'll ever see a president as bad as the current one.

    you really think that he's under the microscope b/c he's black? You think it's more his skin color than lets say, 1. a terrible economy. 2. He's president-elect of the USA 3. an unpopular war. 4. he ran on change. But you're right, it's prob b/c he's black :rolleyes:
