Well Dave Matthews Band just announced 4 dates for Florida in September that i'll be going to and i'm going to see Tool 3 times here too...so I guess all in all it won't be a bad summer for shows!

Wow, all those shows in Florida? I wonder how those bands are going to put food on their plates.

I am sitting here thinking that we are going off of the words of one man.Lets just chill somemore and see.I know the waiting sucks but lets see if we get some shows or a reason why we did not get any shows and not hang on the words of JTR.If you remember he said that we were getting shows about a month ago and everyone freaked out like it was going to happen.

Seriously...with all that money they're going to be losing they'll probably get dropped from their respective labels...

DMB is playing around a dozen shows in the south...and in the major markets. They're going to do just fine. Pearl Jam's attendance level in West Palm is no different than DMB's when they play there so I don't think they'd be losing money there...

Wonder how much money they'll make by loading everything up, paying a crew and playing Lolla??

Does a band, headliner status level like PJ, make more money playing a festival than they do booking a place as the sole headliner??

I wonder if Maynard will reenact this scene for the Birmingham faithfull?

I honestly have no idea but i'm leaning towards them making less money in a festival situation...

Yes, I was neither amused nor impressed by "One Note." It was not exactly the way to treat folks who had sat out in the cold, and it was fucking cold that night, to listen to you. We can probably use that as one clue #1 of the evidence to be used in the case of the South vs. Pearl Jam.

The last time Tool played the same venue, they played through a fucking monsoon with lightning that reminded me of an "end of the world" movie. I was not there, nor would I have wanted to be. I was actually driving back from a photography field trip to Callaway Gardens that evening. The weather was fit for neither man nor beast.

The reviewer in the local paper did mention that it was kind of apt for the show. The amount of rain one would have received in the audience would have been a major drawback to being at the show.

Do they want both our respect and our money? Or just our money?

Have you ever heard the boot from Birmingham 2003? At what turns out to be the very end of the show they (the band) acted as if to play another song....they hit one note and run off the stage. They make light of it at one of the three Boston shows where they play all of the songs from the tour over the three night stand. They call it "One Note." This all occurred after Mike started to play some of "Sweet Home Alabama" during the previous song, and Eddie waved at him saying "no, no.."
