.... and how would you react, if you learnt that your son or daughter is a homosexual???
would you freak out?? would you be able to take that in your stride??
you know its one thing to sit from a distance and watch the entire "gay rights" and its anti-thesis "anti homosesuality" factions fight it out, but things change dramatically once you are forced to run in those shoes.
for example would you be lookign forward to having a SON in law for your SON ... or a daughter in law for your daughter??

I have faced it, A life wasted...
Take my hand, my child of love
Come step inside my tears
Swim the magic ocean,
I've been crying all these years

Honestly, I would give him my full support.
As a mom I'd probably worry slightly about what's ahead for him, but I certainly would not want to become part of the problem.... and the will to show I will always be better than before.0 -
i have two wee girls... i would be quite pleased actually as being a man myself, i know how shit we can be and i dont want them hurt or taken advantage of, etc, etc
my only real disappointment would be if they had no kids... i wanna be a grampaoh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
I've got a pre-teen daughter and it would be her choice - I wouldn't mind at all as long as she is happy. Personally, I think that by the time she is an adult there won't be that much 'stigma' attached to being gay. Live and let live!0

Well said, I would worry and I would be slightly disappointed about the no grandkids things but technology these days, eh?
But I can't imagine if I had kids that they could possibly do or say anything that would make me love them less and any parent who COULD desert or abandon their child for any reason doesn't deserve to be a parent. The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
Chicago 07? And love
What a different life
Had I not found this love with you0 -
I have a ten year old daughter and it would not bother me at all if she were gay ..... what I will say is that the thought of my baby having sex bothers me more than worrying about which gender she's in bed (or whereever) with..........
In regards to not being a grandparent Dunk there are many ways gay couples can have children so by time our girls are grown they could have babies if they really wanted to......" You cannot throw a rope around the neck of an idea" .....Bobby Sands.0 -

very true
i just dont want them to have sex is pretty much my stance
i know they will, but i just hope its with some accountant weakling geeks so that if he does something nasty to my girls i can 'unleash some wrath'oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

When my daughter brought home a little 'love note' when she was six, my husband was already asking "who is he?" "is he in your class?", etc. I can only imagine what it will be when she brings 'friends' around as a teen!!

Dunk I don't know about you but I've raised my daughter to take no shit from anyone ..... She is a beautiful well mannered child but the moment anyone crosses her the fiery character that matches her hair kicks in ..... I feel comfortable in knowing that she's been doing kick boxing for a few years also so if she keeps with that I'd laugh in the face of anyone who tried to hurt her when she's older ........
Then of course they'd have to deal with me ....
I agree with you I don't really like the idea of her having sex at all !! Her father blanks those issues out of his mind like it's something that will never happen ......
We as parents can only teach our children a certain amount the world unfortunately has to teach them the rest !! I'm glad my child doesn't grow up in the context I did !!!!!!!!!!!!!!" You cannot throw a rope around the neck of an idea" .....Bobby Sands.0 -

nope!! might be hard to get my head around the idea but whatever makes them happy... rather they were happy than stuck with a guy for the sake of it... and for social conventions and all.. fuck that, if anything i'd rather they rebelled against social conventions anyway...oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
I'd call her a todger dodger and I'd call him a Rump Ranger and then I'd continue going about my business.0

No wouldn't bother me at all .......... as long as that person was good to my daughter I'd have no need for concern." You cannot throw a rope around the neck of an idea" .....Bobby Sands.0 -
