You mean - warmest winter since 1880. Explain to me again how 127 years compares to the length of time Earth has been in existence.

we know the permian extinction was due to global warming. the siberian flats warmed the earth 5 degrees above normal which caused the frozen methane deposits to thaw and release methane into the atmosphere causing an additional 4 to 5 degree rise. thus causing the extinction.

the statement was that records were started in 1880. ice core samples show it's warmer than previous history but the article was based on records and not scientific estimation.

global temperature fluctuation is a dynamic process, which can explain why some places may be experiencing colder winters and some warmer. if you add them collectively, though, we are on a warming trend. that is undeniable according to most scientists.

here is the thing though. we don't need to deny global warming or try to scare people about it b/c we have an agenda,... or whatever else,...

we need to change the way we view things. everytime i make a thread about "what have you done to change the world, or what is your bright idea?" i see like three responses. wtf? we need to change,... we don't need global warming scare tactics to tell us that.

Like I have said many times before...no matter what side of the politcal fence you lean on the majority of us want a clean environment...what really halts the process in the poltical spin on everything....it just makes the road to suitable recommendations so much more difficult to put in place....for example any government could remove tax (or provide tax rebates) for all high efficiecny (Ener-Star) appliances or for that matter hybrid cars (or ones with good fuel economy) plus alternative means of providing energy to your house (give tax breaks)

All we have today is politcal postering where one side is hell bent on spelling doom and destruction and the other side concerned not mainly on economics but trying to stick it to the other side by being stubborn because in all honesty cause they hate hearing "global warming" but can rub to "climate change".

What we need is to come together and think of plausible solutions, both sides bickering should be ashamed of themselves cause all they are doing is contributing to pro-longing any action...lets get together (take the damn fence down for AT LEAST one issue that is important to everyone) and think of good solutions...things need to start by the individual...intiate your own change...the persistant name calling and doom and gloom is useless and once again both sides should be ashamed.....lets get something productive going instead of arguing the same moot points with each other....the whole debate as degraded itself to mud slinging which is evident here, evident on the streets and evident in our governments.....its time for people to make changes instead of waiting for others to do it for them.....

Don't say that. Global warming will actually cause Europe to get much colder. Melting ice will alter the warm gulf current, sending Europe into an ice age. You guys are pretty far north. Much farther north than say Chicago, yet its generally more moderated temperatures due to the gulf current. Ask Canadians about their winters, because if global warming continues, thats how its gonna be for you.

Stop breathing. Your breath is raising the average global temperature by a millidegree.

I guess english isnt your first language. no worries. if your not part of the solution I guess you are equally to blame and most frightened that the world will come to a crashing end soon.

let me ask you this. what were weather patterns 32.495,000 years ago? I heard they went through one hell of a hot summer.

mother earth is going to do whatever the fuck it wants. we should all try to make a difference based on the fact that the earth has limited resources and will run out if we dont conserve.

do you even know what causes global warming?

LOL, I love it when someone implies another is an idiot because of grammatical mistakes and then they do it themselves. It's not "your", it is "You're".
