  • To me it would be easier to accept some opinions if those certain opinionmakers would just say they have a problem with blacks instead of "skirting around" with nonsence trying to play up stupid ideas.

This comment has nothing to do with this thread or the OP it just seemed like a good place to say it.

for every one of those I can show you video of people (even Dems) not voting for Obama b/c he is a black man. we have a lot of politically stupid people in this country b/c those in power prefer it to be that way.

I don't find anything the woman said funny. She spoke for about 6 seconds and I cannot judge her for that because she felt good about herself and her future... Peeps say crazy stuff when they are happy if you don't believe me just listen to the players from the Phillies after they won the World Series...you'd think that by winning the World Series their lives were changed forever... maybe they are right who knows?
At least this lady isn't running around calling other people terrorists which IMO is far far more ignorant than being inspired after an Obama speech.

OK, so here we have a woman who is overcome by emotion, not the most eloquent, and probably not very educated (I am speculating on that). And she didn't express herself very well.

Now what is the point? Is someone saying that this is typical of the Obama base? Or are we supposed to now start laughing at under-educated black people or something? I am looking for the meaning to this thread.

Even as someone who is pretty okay with an Obama victory, compared to McCain, that video is pretty pitiful. It's not an accurate portrayal of all Obama supporters anymore than a couple of loud racists are indicative of McCain's supporters--but, rather, it's just one more example of stupidity and ignorance from either side of the aisle that is coming more and more to represent America.

Some of the stuff we've been hearing from supporters of all kinds of candidates has to be cause for concern.

    The meaning is this...
Would you rather have your select person who is running for president win because the people who voted for him really agree with is views and understand what they were voting for? Rather then thousands of people casting a vote because they share the same skin color and because of the word "change".
Its just sad that he is going to win because of this one and only reason IMO.

Everything you are saying can be applied to the other side. You're not saying anything that most of us don't already know. And yea, that's really that ONLY reason he's going to win. That's why you have life long republicans voting for him.

Substitute "maverick" for "change" and you have McCain's voter base.

But seriously, you don't think this woman is representative of most of Obama supporters, do you? I would really like to know what the word on the Republican street is. Is this woman what you think of when you hear the word "democrat"?

now that is funny ... if You really believe people are voting for Obama becomes he speaks good and says hope and change a lot - You truly have not been objective in this election campaign ...

all you need to know as to why people are voting for obama is the LAST 8 years - i'm not a obama fan but i know anyone voting for mccain doesn't have any truly factual substance to stand on ...

just look at this board - has ANY mccain/palin supporter posted ONE thread outlining why mccain/palin would be good choices in the last month?? ... instead you get these kind of threads that has absolutely no substance to it whatsoever much like the entire GOP campaign ..

look i pointed out that we have idiots on both sides, who will vote for president b/c of the color of their skin. no one is "keeping her from a library" anymore than someone purposely restricting the findings of the human genome projects that suggests "race as a biological entity does not exists". The thing is that those in power prefer to have a stupid electorate that would rather watch Keith Olberman or Sean Hannity and have them tell them who to vote for. That's not a spoken conspiracy, but its a social fact in this country.

Bull Shit. Obama's going to win because he's black? He will win in spite of that, if anything. Nobody is voting for him because of the word "change". Maybe because he's a change from the Bush policies. Obama's not going to win because some woman said she won't have to worry about financial problems anymore (taken from a seconds long, out of context, emotion filled quip of course). Get your head out of your ass. And I suppose your hypocritical self is very ashamed for supporting Bush because his large base in the south voted for him because they believe he would be fun to be around at a BBQ. Get a grip.

  • I wonder what would posess someone to vote McCain when there's a very real chance of Sarah Palin becoming president......I know it's been said a million times before, but come on!

This pretty much sums her up: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qnSS0dEv-RQ

I mean even if you hate Obama, surely he's the lesser of two evils?

Nope. I really don't like Palin, but my dislike of Obama outweighs it.
I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

I think they would both do similar jobs, they're both very inexperienced and naive, especially when it comes to foreign policy. I just agree with Palin a little more on certain things.

Honestly man. You clearly have issues with minorities. Plain and simple.
It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win
  • I have heard McCain supporters that make that woman sound like she graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and she has a firm grasp on the issues. She sounds no more out of touch than Sarah Palin and she is the Republican VP nominee.

    acoustic guy,

i'd just like to take a moment to remind you that this is what you said on the 30th of september...
I like McCain but Palin scares me to death.
I Kinda like Obama but I don't like a lot of what his party stands for.
I believe Obama really wants to make huge difference in office but I just can't get around his party.
I would be for McCain totally until Palin came along. That was a stupid choice and that make me rethink his decision making.

I have never been into politics until the past two years and I don't know much detail about any of it. But, this is how I feel from what I have read.
    Yeah. We get that already.

She voting for Obama seemingly because she believes he will handle the financial crisis better than McCain.

What are you trying to spin this as again?

Wow, you truly do live with blinders on, huh? I couldn't disagree with you more. I truly do beleive deep down in my gut that Barack Obama is the right man for this job at this time. Regardless of skin color. He is the right man who happens to be black. And you better god damn beleive that the majority of the black community will be, rightfully so, awfully proud of him. Not to say all black people will vote for Obama, as I am sure there are some black Republicans too.
