Its been stated everywhere that Obama is not counting on taking just one opinion to form his policies. In order for that to be effective you need to have a wider range of opinions so you can make the best possible decision. If he had everyone on his staff think just like him then whats the point have even having a staff?
So this guy is the only qualified person with years of experience? I don't trust this guys judgment, plain and simple.
I'm sure if it were one of McCain's advisors you'd all be singing a different tune. But no matter who Obama surrounds himself with, you'll quickly rationalize it away.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Its Evolution Baby wrote:You act like hes on the Walmart's board of directors or something. He wrote a paper as an economist that Walmart is good for the economy. It's his job to only concern himself with economic matters not social.
It's Obama's job to make sure his economic policies match his social policies. If Obama gives money to Walmart he's failed. If one of his economic advisers supports Walmart but it doesn't effect policy then its not an issue.
No, I didn't act like anything. I was quite direct in what I said.
I don't know how his economic policies can match his supposed social policies (rhetoric) if he appoints a person whose history directly conflicts with what he has been saying. But hey, Obama's became a master at saying one thing while doing another....so I guess you guys are just used to up being the new down by now.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

he didnt "steer right" on either of those issues as i clearly laid out earlier... they have been his stance all along... and those stances are hardly "right"... but feel free to try and sway me
He gave his opinion on Obama's stance...just the same as you are giving yours.
I feel pro death penalty is a conservative stance but the new left these days must think differently. Now it must be the new 'progressive' stance to take.
I am anti death penalty in all cases. Killing someone doesn't solve anything.my2hands wrote:also, i am genuinely interested to see your opinion on the father day speech and the role of african american fathers currently in this country
I don't really care about Obama's father's day speech. It's only a ploy to get attention and votes. I didn't see him giving these 'controversial' speeches up until now. I think it's phoney concern from an extremely inauthentic politician but that's just my opinion. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

you will view anything he does or says as "inauthentic" because tou have already made your mind up about him and 99% of politicians in general...
he actually lived it abbok. he was raised by a single mother after his father took off leaving them both. i dont think that is inauthentic. i believe he was speaking from personal experience and commenting on one of the social ills of our day that is as blatant as the sun rising, absent coward fathers that are not worth a pile of shit.0 -
i guess that speech on race was "talking white"...
and that fathers day speech was "talking white"

No problem, glad to help. I'm afraid, however, that most people wont read past the first sentence once they realize it's not about Obama's driving habits -- except perhaps the few Nadernuts around here that would believe Obama is Satan's bastard child if they read it in a blog or saw it on a yourtube video.0 -

Do I really have to say I'm speaking in general terms for you to realize it? I figured that is always implied seeing as how it is ridiculous to think that everyone inside a group feels the exact same way about anything. Yes, the left is generally anti-death penalty BUT not every single person who is a leftist is anti-death penalty. There, happy?
Stating the obvious can be so much fun!
Anyways, back to justifying the death penalty. Sure, if some hideous crime happened to someone in my family I might suddenly support the death penalty in that case but that would be based on my emotional reaction and distress, all subjective not based on my clear-headed thoughts on the issue of the death penalty and the objective views I have on the matter based on what I know to be wrong.

And you'll continue to excuse everything he does and believe his rhetoric because you have your mind made up. I haven't seen a single issue brought up against Obama that you haven't found some justification for... be it the patriot act, healthcare, lobbyists and the list goes on...my2hands wrote:he actually lived it abbok. he was raised by a single mother after his father took off leaving them both. i dont think that is inauthentic. i believe he was speaking from personal experience and commenting on one of the social ills of our day that is as blatant as the sun rising, absent coward fathers that are not worth a pile of shit.
But only in the most convenient timing for himself, of course. That's what makes me think 'inauthentic'.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.
