Tyra Banks getting her medicine

Anyone else find it amusing the crap she is going through.

She is amazingly snotty, rude and conceited, just watch that Americas Next top model. Not one of the models on that show is "overweight" or "normal" weight. They are all waif thin. They are all looking a certain way. The show is about being superficial, and that looks are everything, and that modeling somehow is gods gift to the world. Its amazingly ridiculous.

Now tyra is in tears and crying like a baby because people are calling her fat. You get what you give. Thats my philosophy. The tables are turned and now she is being judged. But somehow she isnt acting the same way as she does when she is snotty to people on her Americas next top model.

Although I too dislike and condemn the medias obsession with people being rail thin and condemn media and magazines for presenting the idea that to be beautiful one must be skinny, I think this is an exception. Tyra deserves this public tongue lashing she is getting.

Maybe she wont be so quick to judge others based on their looks, now that people are looking at her like she is a jerk and an alien as opposed to some supermodel who deserves our worship.

If I recall correctly, you once mentioned how you like women who have meat on them or something like that, a point you seem to be making again right now. If I'm correct, it's a great point that we come in all shapes and sizes, and while some women are model thin, others are more voluptuous. And it's not like one is "okay" and the other "not" since beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think the point is that even if you find her more attractive now after she put on weight, if she was a model and was trying out for her tv show, she wouldnt make it on.

I just love how hypocritical people are.

No ones that thin and no one should be that thin. When models were overweight on her show, she had NO sympathy for them. NONE. So I have no sympathy for her.

She's a first class jerk in my book. To her, looks are everything, and now it seems, that has become even more true, she has changed, and suddenly people dont find her as attractive as before.

If the shoe fits....

Take into account that it's just like American Idol. ATM has to get viewers to watch the show. I mean it's a Model show. Most Models I see are skinny, beautiful and unique.

I think Tyra is there to critique and be hard on the models. She was/is a model and knows how tough the business can be.

Although I don't watch TV now, I've watched every episode of numerous seasons of America's Next Top Model. I've had various eating disorder issues for over 30 years, so when I watch a show like that I continuously scan to see where they cross lines on body image etc. My personal opinion is that Tyra is judging the women in terms of how acceptable they will be within the modelling industry, and how marketable and acceptable their image will be as models. That's what the job is about, and I think everyone involved knows this. At the same time, Tyra is such a household name model, that she can get away with being overweight in model-terms. For example, when she does the Victoria Secret fashion shows, she's definitely a LOT curvier than some of the other models--that can't be airbrushed out, but for a show like that, they are happy to get her name and status and will gladly throw a feather boa on her or some kind of cover-up in order to not have the extra weight be glaring or obvious. Plus they probably realise many guys want to see a voluptuous woman modelling lingerie!

Even when Tyra was thin-for-Tyra, she was on Oprah, and when Oprah was fawning over how trim she was, Tyra was humble and pointed out how they still did not accept her hippy body frame and airbrushed inches off of her hips for magazine covers. In my opinion, she does not/did not seem to be a shallow person about body weight except in being realistic as to what is expected for a marketable model, which obvious America's Next Top Model is going for.

I have never seen the show, and I only vaguely know who Tyra Banks is, but it's possible she's just doing her job.

My niece tried out for that show and made it to the last cut before they select the people to be on ... I know she flew out there 3 times. They told her that she didn't make the final cut because she was too nice. They want conflict, they're looking for cat fights, and everyone who is on that show knows it's expected.

Unfortunately she's an amazingly annoying asshole. Everytime she opens her mouth, she makes herself uglier and uglier.

Despite her aesthetic hottness, she's extremely unattractive on every other level. Ugh.

exactly. i do know who tyra banks is...she is a beautiful women to be sure, altho i haven't seen her in a long time. however, absolutely, it doesn't matter what her personality is, being a model is all visual. you ARE a human clothes hanger...meant to make clothes look good, or whatever product you're hawking. that's it. the modelling world has been stuck on the uber-thin for years and years...so if tyra banks is being tough about it on some show...i've never seen it so no idea....she is simply being realistic about it. it's a models JOB to be, and stay uber thin. that's that.

I agree, I can't stand her. Actually there are a lot of women I think are far more attractive than Tyra Banks. I always thought she was overrated, and she seems like a bitch too.

I really can't stand Tyra. After watching the tv clip. It said she was 161 lbs and 5"10? I'm a 5"11 guy and weigh less than her haha, sorry thought that was funny.

wasnt she at the cleveland pre-gathering? i think i recall us talking about how i thought id spotted you there but was distracted by some beautiful woman i saw. that'd be embarassing if it was her.

dont worry. i dont make a habit of trying to pick up my friends' family members. kinda causes some tension. your daughter is safe from me

the only chatting up id do is trying to get her constitutional law outline out of her!
