Why is USA allowed nukes, and other countries not?

Surely if USA were that keen on banning nukes, they'd disarm all theirs?

Or is this simply too logical for the gumps that run the USA?

There is also a little something called the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which a ton of countries have signed. It recognizes that there are countries, including the US that have nuclear weapons but the countries that don't but have signed, agree to not develop them.

Nukes, like any other weapon advancement, is a Pandora's box. You can't undo it. You will never see them just dissappear. Although gas and germ warfare are outlawed, many powerful countries still keep a supply just in case. That doesn't mean we should allow more and more countries to make more. It only increases the odds of complete global destruction.

Like someone said earlier, I'd rather be a hipocrite and stop the spread of nuclear arms than to just let anyone create their own. Stopping proliferation is the only rational tactic, not somehow destroying all the nukes in existence already. You can't unlearn how to make a nuke, and no country would be so foolish as to give up such a huge military advantage.

Now go back to kindergarten and share your fucking cookies with everyone else and ignore the sad realities of the real world.

I'm not so sure, they may come a time when they're all used up in a worldwide nuclear annihilation and the only ones fighting at that time will be with sticks and stones.

I think Einstein said that some time ago.

maybe he shouldnt have invented the thing in the first place. There's more than enough nukes to wipe out humanity, i'm sure their will be a few extras laying around.

russia has more nukes than the entire world combined. they are backing Iran's desire to be able to have them. what happens if Iran and Russia team up against the US? if they did team up with Iran, that would be very scary for us all since russia is already close allies with china, and therefore also myanmar. does anyone else think this is a real possibility?

i'm really worried with the iran situation on top of everthing else :(

not really. russia is backing Iran's LEGAL WANT OF NUCLEAR ENERGY which is nothing even close to "their desire to have nuclear weapons."

If the idiotic citizens of the US would be smart enough to not support war with Iran, they'd vote in someone who'll try to be diplomatic and man enough to have talks with Iran in trying to establish a stronger alliance. Ahmadinejad has stated several times he wants to talk but the US refused. That shows that the US is really the stupid one, not Iran. If after they try to talk and Iran shows hostility and like they have something to hide, then you'd have reason to be scared.

Even if Iran desired to attain nuclear weapons they're many years (5-10) away from gaining such weapons. Surely something can be worked out diplomatically when your looking at that time frame of Iran becoming a "threat to the ENTIRE WORLD".

Should be "über alles" I think.

    "Deutschland über alles"

"Germany above all" or in this case "Amerika über alles"

    Deutschland, Deutschland über alles,
    Über alles in der Welt,
wenn es stets zu Schutz und Trutze
    brüderlich zusammenhält.
von der Maas bis an die Memel,
von der Etsch bis an den Belt,
    |: Deutschland, Deutschland über alles,
Über alles in der Welt! :|

    Germany, Germany above everything,
    above everything in the world,
When it always, for protection and defence,
    Brotherly stands together.
From the Meuse to the Neman,
From the Adige to the Belt,
    |: Germany, Germany above all,
Above anything in the world. :|

Following World War II, Einstein became even more outspoken. He was a leading figure in the World Government Movement and continued to work for peace and world order, campaigning for the abolition of all nuclear weapons. When asked what kind of weapons World War III would be fought with, Einstein responded, “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”

On July 9, 1955, Albert Einstein and Bertrand Russell issued the Russell-Einstein Manifesto warning of the peril of nuclear weapons and the dangers of continuing an arms race and called upon Congress, scientists and the general public to join in a resolution. The Russell Einstein Manifesto resolved: “In view of the fact that in any future world war nuclear weapons will certainly be employed, and that such weapons threaten the continued existence of mankind, we urge the Governments of the world to realize, and to acknowledge publicly, that their purpose cannot be furthered by a world war, and we urge them, consequently, to find peaceful means for the settlement of all matters of dispute between them.”
