Who's cousin got sentenced to 10 years of jail because he got into a fight with some white guys in Iowa and broke one of their noses. He didn't even start the fight.. 10 years!!! For a fight!!!

    You don't get 10 years in prison for punching someone.

    that is wrong. but did he have a record? i can't see anyone being sentenced to 10 years for a fight when carjackers and burglers get probation. is there any more information?

    I'm just going by what my friend told me. I trust what he says, but then maybe there's something his cousin isn't telling him. I don't know.

    past offenses don't take this the wrong way but the individual in ? probably has a long rap sheet ..

    That could be, but after hearing about the Jena 6, my friends story doesn't surprise me at all.

    I would suspect that this made the newspaper whereever it happened. Where in Iowa? I'd like to see the story. Tradtionally (and I am sure it is still true today), the justice system is not fair, but I am having a hard time taking this at face value--I am guessing there is more.
    I cannot come up with a new sig till I get this egg off my face.

    It's not the first time we hear a black going into jail for 10 years after such a "small" bad act...

    Either way, it would be insane.

    If your buddy got into a fight and got ten years for breaking somebodies nose, tell me you wouldn't think that was unfair?

    Not to tug on your chain, but it has been three hours more or less since your first post and still no link to the story. I am sure that this would be in even a modest paper from the town or city that this went down in.
