Well done. Both Olbermann and Matthews seemed to have a problem reporting the news without injecting their personal biases. This only pertains to live political events, they will still host their respective shows.

Olbermann has gone totally "Rush Limbaugh"....just in the other directionAll the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.0

            wow, very surprising.0

Good decision. I wish it was Tom Brokaw or Brian Williams taking it over instead of David Gregory. He is such a putz.0

I can't stand him. The only commentator on that network that I like is Scarsborrough (sp?). Even though I don't agree with some of his stances he at least if fair when it comes to reporting."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0

Agreed. I like Brokaw a lot and feel that he can at least bring back some integrity to journalism."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0

            Interesting indeed...
I do agree with them canning Olbermann, as he has become obnoxious. I am surprised to see Matthews go though, I liked him as a commentator. He and Buchanan, as opposite politically as they are, are great together.
Is Maddow still getting her show? It just seems like her and Olbermann are the same thing. My whole life

Yes but Olbermann is not canned. He will still have his show, as well as Matthews. MSNBC decided to drop them as anchors for political events, such as the upcoming debates."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0

Maybe Fox News should take a hint that biased journalism isn't good for America.Pittsburgh 6/23/06

Sorry, I scanned a couple paragraphs of the article instead of actually reading it
I really have no idea why they would have Olbermann as an "anchor" in the first place... Who thought that was a good idea?My whole life

i kinda like Chris matthews. he always seemed to just enjoy the political crap like its a game. which it is.0

Awesome. Not so much about Matthews because I like him and, to my ears, kept fair to both parties even though he obviously leans towards the Democrats.
Olbermann just can't help himself from being a biased d-bag to the point of it being embarrassing.
He was so much better on ESPN."I'm here to see Pearl Jam."- Bono

While I tend to agree with him politically, Olbermann reminds me of Glenn Beck. Instead of sticking to issues and keeping above the fray, they both resort to little petty shots when there is no need to.My whole life

She truly is Olbermann on estrogen. She practically mimics him and I wonder if she even notices.blackredyellow wrote:Is Maddow still getting her show? It just seems like her and Olbermann are the same thing."I'm here to see Pearl Jam."- Bono

I like Olbermann and watch Countdown, but I agree, he's too biased to be an anchor. Matthews is okay, but I always want to slip him a Xanax.
That being said, if Charlie Gibson lobs softballs at S. Palin - like "what's it like to see an igloo?" instead of asking her real questions about policy or the many untruths she told during her speech, I will be really pissed off.0

is that such a bad thing? the right has fauxnews, what's so bad about having the other extreme represented.
certainly casts into stark relief though that the insidious liberal bias is as much a myth as anything. hell will freeze over before fox would admit they've got any bias in their reporters.and like that... he's gone.0

I think the problem with MSNBC being seen as a very biased news source, is that affects NBC's image as a news organization. My whole life

does Olbermann deny he is leftwing? i havent heard that. if he doesnt, i dont really see the problem as an opinion/editorial show. still doesnt belong on campaign coverage though.
contrast that with O'Reilly, who insists he's neutral. at least Olbeman isnt lying about it.0

It's about time. I know that I've avoided that channel recently just because of Olbermann's bias views. It's embarrasing really. I knew their ratings were bad but not to that extent.0

It's not Olberman's views that are a problem, it's that he is/was an anchor for political events. As a commentator he can express his views all he wants, but as an anchor person for a debate or convention he is supposed to be fair and unbaised, which he wasn't doing. I know Fox News has people like Sean Hannity covering debates and conventions but just because one news network is partaking in partisan reporting doesn't make it right for all the others."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0
