    I miss Bonnarooooooooooooo!!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
  • I miss bonnaroo too! I'm already checking sites for rumors of bands next year. I know I went this year for PJ, but I think I will go every year because it is that great of a time - obviously PJ makes it a must go. All the way from San Francisco too!

Went from CT and thinking of making the trip again...now if PJ plays Rothbury??? Also going closer to home next summer and up the road 25 minutes to Gathering of the Vibes. I got the bug man!

Yeah, the Merch tent was mobbed on Sunday. If there is a next time I will get the Roo stuff I love the first day, then worry about the bands as they come out on the day they play. I wanted the Bonnaroo blanket/banner and missed out on that. Made sure I got all the PJ stuff early on Saturday. Too obsessive about the boys to let anything slide ;).

exactly. The cool thing about Roo though was that I still got to see all the bands/comedians that I wanted to see Saturday and still got up front in the Pit thanks to the Pit line

if you went to roo, you miss roo, that's all there is to say.

    Highlights:
PJ playing a superkickass, emotional show with all the lighters out. (eddie was just glowing during betterman, and during the attempted glowstick wars)

MMJ playing for 4 hours in the pouring rain!!!

    Fireflies

    Bobbleheads

Seeing Patrick (drummer) for MMJ eating pizza outside which stage while Phil Lesh and Friends were on.

    The grafitti on the walls

    Microbrews

    KANYE SUCKS!!!!!!

    the list goes on....
    It's all happening....

    East Troy 2003
    Chicago x2, Summerfest x2, 2006
    Chicago THE VIC, Lollapalooza, 2007
    bonnaROOOOOOO 2008
    Chicago x2 2009

    (EV chicago 2008 night 2)

the "glowstick war" was hilarious! Someone actually almost hit Ed with a few of them- he's quicker than you'd think :)

ah roo, what a good time, aside from the heat, prices of food, humidity, and not showering for a week :) really wish i would have caught mmj, but i heard them from my tent so it was aight
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

I really didn't think the heat was that bad. We always took mid-day breaks in the AC comedy tent whioch rocked. The food wasn't the best, but we brought must of our own food with us, so it wasn't that bad. The great thing about Roo was that you could hear any of the main bands on the What stage from your tent, while partaking in other events ;)

And that first shower in Columbia at the hotel- and laying down in a nice bed for the first time in a week- wow, what a feeling!!!!

Bonnaroo is great, but I'll be looking into Rothbusy this year and hoping the line-up is good. Rothbury is closer for me and the weather should be easier to work with.

The only downside to Rothbury is those VIP areas are pretty expensive!
  • Bonnaroo was great this year, even if it went very mainstream. I'd love to see PJ return and become regulars like MMJ :)

Rothbury had much nicer weather and was much less crammed in like Bonnaroo, but I'm not sure what the future of that festival is (they had some money issues with the government).

I have a great photo of PJ onstage at Bonnaroo at my site (http://www.soundcapturephotos.com). I climbed to the very top of the vip bleachers and got part of the crowd with the entire stage...gives you an idea of just how many people were there for PJ!

that's a nice picture, but it doesn't even come close to showing the amount of people there. sure it thinned out the farther back you got, but there were at least three times the amount you can see in that photo.

I was still behind that beer tent you can barely see on the far left. There was still a ton of people behind me, too.

You'd pretty much have to take an aerial shot to get it all I think. But that last pic is much better in showing the sea of people. I don't suppose you got a shot with all the lighters up, yeah?

That pic would make an awesome banner, though.
