Don Imus Comments

While I am not surprised that a somewhat famous liberal's racist comments go unposted on this message board (gee, double standard?), I can understand because the guy obviously just made a stupid off the cuff joke and these idiots want to crucify him for it. Ridiculous, just ridiculous. Sharpton needs to have his vocal cords ripped out. I'm sure he's never made a racist remark in any of his idiotic rants.

Don Imus isn't a liberal, but I agree that there is perhaps more furor over his remarks than there ought to be. But you can't deny that what he was was offensive and retarded. In the shadow of the light from a black sun
Frigid statue standing icy blue and numb
Where are the frost giants Ive begged for protection?
I'm freezing
Are you afraid, afraid to die
Don't be afraid, afraid to try0 -
don imus was out of line. that's all i'll say.I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.0

haven't blacks in America been shit on enough already?Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Yea I heard what he said. And really who gives a shit it's Don Imus.0

how is that any different than a black comedian on cable tv making white jokes. imus is an entertainer right? i have never seen any white comedian on national television make any black jokes or do anything like i've seen the black comedians do. i'm not offended by it at all and i love black comedy i think they are by far the funniest comedians of all time. but why always so much racial drama over such nonsense a white person might say?Oh dear dad
Can you see me now
I am myself
Like you somehow
I'll ride the wave
Where it takes me
I'll hold the pain

Imus' comment was stupid and uncalled for. He apologized and his employer has taken disciplinary action against him. I think that this story should be put to bed, but you have people like Sharpton who will use this to fuel their own agenda. And Imus is far from a liberal so nice job trying to turn someone's stupid comment intp a partisan bashing thread."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0

I can't help but wonder why anyone cares? Why is this an actual news story? Someone staying something stupid is news now?
When the PC police jump on Rosie's constant comments..like her making fun of how Asian people talk..then I won't cry hypocrisy.
A cocaine dealer, Mr Sharpton...made this a story. Even though it's not one.0 -
Someone made racist comments about blacks.
Welcome to the Double Standard thread.I cannot come up with a new sig till I get this egg off my face.0 -

However, there's no Asian equivalent of Al Sharpton, so there's no one to harp on it as a pet project on our commercial airwaves. That's not hypocrisy; that's the market.0 -
It's funny how when we watch an ideological conflict between two people, we often approach the situation by assuming that one is right and the other is wrong. Often times, however, both are idiots.0

Don Imus is a morning talk radio host. Here in NYC he is on WFAN 660 AM and on MSNBC. After the Rutgers women basketball team lost to Tennessee he called then nappy-headed hos. Needless to say that 8 out of the 10 players in black."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0 -

You might want to keep it quiet in case Sharpton is lurking on this board.
It was a dumb thing to say and it was probably intended as a joke that didn't come out the right way. He apologized and the whole issue should be put to bed, but you have Rev. Al "Twana Brawley" Sharpton sticking his big greasy head into the thick of things making it a bigger deal than it should be."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0 -
You see, I really don't comprehend anyone getting upset over what he said.
But, if one is going to get insulted/appalled/upset over what he said; then why aren't the same people who become appalled at this, appalled at Mencia, Chappelle, Lopez, Martin Lawrence, Def Comedy Jam, Night At The Apollo......the list goes on endlessly.
Don't get me wrong, it's not that I think people should get "appalled" or "upset" over any of this stuff, but I'm just looking for consistency.
Ultimately this is nothing but a bullsh*t double-standard by desperately overly-sensitive, overly-PC people.
He should be able to say what ever he damn well pleases.
Certainly what he said is mild compared to some of the things said by other non-white comedians and talk show guys/gals. Not that I think anyone should get upset over what they say, either.
If someone doesn't like it, then tune out and don't listen. Turn the dial. Plain and simple.0 -
As for Sharpton and Jackson, they're just parasites who sink their fangs into any opportunity (white guy's/gal's ass), when ever they percieve (through their racist eyes) there to be a "racists" host. Nothing more than two parasites seeking a host for venom.0

He called the Tennessee team "cute" and they have more black players than Rutgers. Bottom line here, Rev. Al has a sickness and the only cure is more spotlight.
But even more hilarious is the 'Imus is a liberal' comment. Wise up already.hate was just a legend0 -
