So it's not really about who would make a better leader, it's about who has the most charisma and looks the best on the tv?
Ok, you win.
Like I said, it happened in Kennedy/Nixon and I can see it happening again. I'm not saying that's my criteria, but some people do vote off of that.
And Nader is garbage. I saw him speak a couple of years ago, the man is off his rocker.16
Lil Wayne is better than Pearl Jam.

What did he say that would make you think that? Really, i'm curious. Did he start taking his clothes off and screaming "UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED!" while giving the speech?0 -

No,really what did he say?0 -
I hear this a lot...why exactly is Nader considered crazy?Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Can you imagine Nader in the White House? I hope it's not painted with lead based paint he'd have to change that. Let's hope someone on his underpaid staff doesn't get a papercut he'd spend the next 3 years in court trying to sue the paper manufacturers to get them to put rubber strips on every sheet of paper so no ever gets cut again... That would triple the cost of paper but hey isn't it about the consumer?the Minions0 -

In my opinion:
Too much McCain bashing.
Too many promises made.
The first third of his speech = lots of McCain bashing
The final third of his speech = I'm tired of all the negative politics as usual
It's like he was fucking having a one-man debate with himself.
I swear to God, most people seem to just fall under the spell of that preacher cadence that Obama uses in his speeches, and don't even listen to the words. It's sort of like wooing my newborn to sleep ... it doesn't matter if I'm speaking gibberish, so long as my voice has the right cadence to it.everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0 -

What is he supposed to do? He made a clear distinction between refusing to attack McCain's character and patriotism (as McCain has continuously done to Obama) in the third section, and the attacks he made in the rest of his speech. Obama can't afford to simply not respond to the bullshit McCain's campaign has been spreading; it's exactly that kind of approach that sunk Kerry in 2004. He didn't respond to the Swift Boat stuff, and it allowed a decorated war veteran to be beaten by a draft dodger.
What criticism did Obama make about McCain that was false or unwarranted?
That McCain has stated at several point that the economy is fundamentally strong, and that his chief economic consultant classified the recession due to the US being a 'nation of whiners?'
That McCain was a strong supporter of the war in Iraq, the most misguided foreign policy decision in modern history?
That Obama's life story clearly does not fit the mold of this 'eltist celebrity' storyline McCain has been peddling?
That McCain voted with W. Bush 90 percent of the time?
Which of these are wrong? None of them.0 -

I know it's been posted here before, but here's an example of how sharp McCain is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2y8dYwq01gMy Pearl Jam Photos

I think most of us have been watching McCain over his many years as a senator, and I think that spotlight has been focused on him over the last 8 years (which have been especially troubling).
Experience goes a long way and has a lot of influence in an election, but if your experience and record consistently highlights the fact that you've made poor decisions and often shows the fact that you don't know WTF you are talking about...then that experience can become quite the detriment in getting elected.
I've watched, I've seen, and McCain is simply a horrible candidate for president (and senator for that matter).0
