I caught the second half of his speech last night and I was very very impressed.
I don't know if it was enough to vote for him but I am interested to see what would change in our country (if anything) if he was to become president.
Nothing else to say but I was impressed.

I am NOT interested to see the change if McCain gets elected.

Are you surprised that you were impressed by his speech? This guy has been giving the best speeches (by far) since he came onto the political scene.

And yes, his speech was good. Why? Because he explained in detail what "Change" actually means and why McCain winning would be like a 3rd term for Bush. I don't agree with the second statement but he was probably able to convince a lot of people.

these senators have had the power to make the changes they are talking about without being president...lol what makes you think they are going to work harder when they are in control of the executive branch

There are 50 senators that are below the one president. Its pretty easy math to notice how much more power there is in the executive.

And now the Dems control Congress, which would make things much easier for a Dem President.

Democratic Congress + Republican President = Next to impossible to agree on any legislature, and thus difficult have any progress

Democratic Congress + Democratic President = Much more possible to pass legislature and thus have significant progress

It's separation of powers 101. Tough concept.

Very true. That's the one thing I absolutely hate about Obama. Hey, Edwards went after him in a debate many months ago and that is pretty much forgotten so the American people must not care about that too much. But of course McCain will bring that all back up again.

the only 'morality' i care about is in regards to saving lives, and ending war......i don't care about your personal morality, nor do i want to see others' morality pushed on the agenda, and i sure as hell don't care about any president's sexcapades.

and obama IS an excellent speaker. charismatic and speaks to the points people care about and want to hear about.

Am I the only one where I was going to vote for Obama before his speech last night, but now I’m having second thoughts?

    In my opinion:
    Too much McCain bashing.
    Too many promises made.

How on earth are they to make changes with such a small majority in the Senate and a Republican President...it's impossible

I thought it was a good speech too.
He got into more of what he wants to do and how he'll do it, more so than in past speeches. It was good to see. It wasn't the typical "inspirational" speech he's so known for that doesn't say much. It wasn't as motivational, but better IMO because it got into so much more.

Would it have been better if he said my opponent is great and will do a great job and I will tell you nothing about my agenda. Just trust me I have one?

The speech wasn't geared for his supporters like me as it affirmed what I knew. It was trying to win the people on the fence. The middle class that are being told Obama is after there money for taxes.

I'm interested to see the response from the people on the fence about Obama and if he gained any more firm support.

I think everyone is going to see out of touch McCain is with the American People next week.

Obama will make ol' man McCain look silly.

Just like the Kennedy/Nixon debates make Nixon looks like an ugly weirdo.

Really? Obama is weak, very weak when put on the spot. A written speech is where Obama is tops.

What would be nice is a Nader/Obama/McCain debate. I'm sure all Obama supporters would love to see it?

    Nader is garbage, number 1.

    2) Obama still has about 19072907289270 times more charisma than McCain, thus making him look better on television.

Nader is garbage?...Why would you even think that? Please, never use a seat belt again.

So it's not really about who would make a better leader, it's about who has the most charisma and looks the best on the tv?

    Ok, you win.
