A man says he broke into an apartment with a cavalry sword because he thought he heard a woman being raped, but the sound actually was from a pornographic movie his upstairs neighbor was watching

I hate it when that happens0

I bet if he were watching a gunfight movie loud, no one would have cared.
Sex > violence. AKA your country is backwards.0 -

true...this story is humor. I just always pick up on the whole "sex vs. violence" and what's more acceptable in the good old USA. I am from Canada, and we'd have as many wackos as you if it weren't cold here 9 months of the year. Staying warm is more important than being a wacko.0 -
i mistakenly rapped myself once.......while watching porn.live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.0

must have been one hell of a "sword fight" :cool:0

that guys a super hero..he shouldnt be in jail..the guy listening to porn that loud should be..0

why would you need to have it up so loud anyway? everyone knows that when they're masturbating, the most sensitive part of a man's body is their ears :Swaiting for the great leap forward
12 people may make the one decision but that doesn't make it right.

It's hard to realistically recreate the sounds of a gunfight even with a decent home theater system. Guns are extremely loud and distinct.0 -
i once watched the jungle book and was mistaken for a zookeeper.......hmmm

Even though, he still is right, sex is a more taboo subject than violence. I don't know why though. I think seeing naked people is less damaging than dead ones, we all hope our children meet the first type in real life and never the second.0 -

I know! People act as if they'd rather have children view death and violence than to see the natural act of sex. Both are mature subject matter but it just seems violence is accepted when it seems it should be considered worse. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

He may be right, but we are all right every now and then. The difference is being able to use an appropriate analogy to illustrate that. If he wants to talk about america's indifference to violence, then he should be under some kind of obligation to illustrate that with an example that makes logical sense.
Nowhere in America can you get into a gunfight in your apartment and not have the cops called on you. If people want to make a point, they should do so without sounding like they really don't know reality from fiction. Saying that people don't call the cops when they think a gunfight is going on is fiction. It is not reality.0
