Like it or not, it will be a definite upgrade from the last administration..

Who will he choose as vice president? Kucinich???

    Not if he wants to win. I don't think he is even close to wrapping up the nomination either. Hilary and Edwards are still alive.

    However, if he gets the nomination, I would think he'd have to select someone from "The Real America", meaning Edwards or possibly Richardson. I'd like it to be Biden, but the smart money would be Edwards, the fair-haired boy from North Carolina.

    BTW, the next president is Huckabee.
    I cannot come up with a new sig till I get this egg off my face.

    I think Obama will win because he'll inspire people who wouldn't normally vote to vote.

    It's way, way too early, to state the obvious. I wonder what Iowa's batting average is when it comes to this?? how many Iowa winners go on to be their party's nominee?

    i was at a friend's house and we were looking up info like this, so i can't quote the site directly, but it said Iowa's "batting average" was .600 which isn't too bad. but i don't think there's any way to call this yet, especially for the dems. it's just too close right now.

    Not sure about party nominees, but Woodward said on CNN tonight that 3 of the last 4 presidents have not won Iowa - Regan, Bush Sr, and Clinton. Clinton actually had something like 3% in Iowa.

    I don't know a huge amount about hte issues the candidates are riding on (I'm not following it that closely at all) but this morning on the radio they had a small segment on the Iowa thing and played a bit of Obama's speech, and a bit of the winning Republican guys speech, and I gotta say Obama seems to have charisma coming out of his ass. that can count for a hell of a lot.

    Huckabee is a baptist minister. I'm no theologian, but I believe baptists are fairly liberal when it comes to many social issues, much more liberal than say catholics, mormons, or evangelicals.

    The guy seems pretty genuine to me. If the general election were Obama vs. Huckabee, I'd have a hell of a time choosing. Unless, of course, my main man RP is running as a 3rd party candidate, then the decision is easy.

    I hope not. The democrats' fiscal policies just point to how power hungry they are and how much control they want to have over all of us. I do not want to be under such an oppressive regime.
